Second up was Liz Pirnat from teaching us about how to taste and classify spirits for cocktailing. We tasted three spirits and talked about their palate characteristics. We also got to test out Stefan's rum aroma kit to train our olfactory senses. Thank you Liz!

Eric Bucholtz from taught our group about American whiskeys. We discussed the five people inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2024. Five whiskeys were sampled from the inductee's brands: Old Forester, New Riff, Angel's Envy, Bardstown Bourbon Company, and Kentucky Peerless. Cleveland USBG members also got to share their love for a group favorite liquor store, The Party Source! Thanks Eric!

Cole Davis from educated us on wine, winemaking processes, and grape varietals. We tasted eight wines from the US and Europe thanks to Cole!

Cleveland Education Week started off with a Bloody Maria bar featuring and . Sarah Gage taught us about tequila and the history of the Don Julio brand while we got to taste four premium expressions. Thank you Sarah!

The Cleveland celebration for USBG Education Week was a success! We had a lot of great food from for brunch and a Bloody Maria bar featuring and
Bloody Mary mix. There were four great educational presentations throughout the day. Then, Tim made everyone celebratory Zombie shots to enjoy when watching the documentary The Donn of Tiki, a film about Donn Beach (better known as Don the Beachcomber) and tiki bar culture.
