I was drawn to ENGin because I truly believe this nonprofit can have a worldwide impact; starting with the people of Ukraine and then to become the model for many nations striving to be free, sovereign, and independent.
One-of-a-kind program pairs Ukrainian youth with English speakers for free online conversation practice and cross-cultural connection. Work with students age 10-35 and volunteers age 14+. Volunteers need to dedicate 1 hour a week to ENGin for at least 10-12 weeks. We can accommodate more. Volunteers should be native English speakers or fluent in English and be at least 14 years old.
Volunteer quote -- “An enriching, wonderful experience… We have had amazing conversations ….” ☮️☮️

Is that the Landfill speaking?
Using my megaphone 📣- Since 2005 - Helping consumers REUSE WASTE. Tell your friends to join us as we “walk the talk” thru REUSE.
December 5,1969, I woke up in Fort Dix, NJ; ate first breakfast in a mess hall, had my head shaved, got a new olive drab wardrobe, and stood in endless lines. I was not alone. As part of a group of new Army employees I complied with directives and trusted the orders for my now unknown future career step. I never questioned my freedom. Those days seem so different from today.
Many died trusting as I did and many, like me, built strong life foundations from the experiences we encountered. It was not always clean and simple, but we had hope and we could believe. Risks of all kinds were present and talented resources were there to guide us. Sometimes we helped, many times we followed but we hoped / trusted and endured.
It seemed to me that people cared about each other for the most part. It seemed that broad worldly actions were intended to help the overall. However, now I regret my hope / trust is fading. Power, greed, division, and misinformation are destroying the good that, although not always ideal, existed.
On December 5, 2021, I now wish somehow, I can restore the hope and trust I had 52 years ago and watch the future develop to where we again create strong foundations and hopeful lives.

The Waste Tradeoff
For Originators & Distributers, it is cheaper to make or market a new item than to refurbish (reuse) an existing one.
For consumers, there is cost savings in reusing items but there is very little opportunity to obtain a refurbished item. Consumer refurbishing on their own is not a cultural priority.
Refurbishing as an independent business is rare because sustainability is hampered by lack of awareness, little consumer demand and high marketing costs. They cannot compete.
Waste starts with making new. Therefore, Originators & Distributers control the waste cycle because they only provide items that yield the highest returns. So, the tradeoff is simple – Waste reduction loses to profitability every time.
Consumers are getting the wrong messages on waste reduction and are unknowingly participating in the cycle that creates more waste. We must paint the proper picture and shift the excess production downward or more landfills will become our neighbors.
Please Reuse Waste
Letter: Cut single-use production to cut single-use waste If we are serious about waste reduction, we must get better at controlling the production...
