I love to study the shapes and colors within each unique shell. Here, I exaggerated the color undertones of the shells to create a striking watercolor still life.

Pine cones are perfect. When you think of the most beautiful elements in nature, maybe a pine cone doesn't come to mind, but to me, they are as perfect as a seashell, and complex as a rose and its petals. I love pine cones for holiday art and sprucing up a home with a wintry "floral" look. The original painting was created on watercolor paper with gouache, which is an opaque watercolor paint.

👋 “Racing to the Rhythm”

This is possibly my favorite work of abstract art I have ever created. I created this in a stream of consciousness, using a drip and tilt technique with acrylic on canvas. Primary colors, black, white, and gold metallic paint were used. When completed, I polled my followers to ask what they saw in this abstract scene. The most popular answers were: bicyclists and a rock band. Thus, the title, "Racing to the Rhythm," was born. Available as prints - I personally printed this one on metal and gifted it to several friends who completed a 50-mile fundraiser bike ride with me.

Haunting Beauty was a watercolor created with the contrast of tight lines of a watercolor pen, with heavy use of water on the page, allowing the black watercolor to reveal its blue base color. I love the hauntingly beautiful look and composition of this piece.

It's delivery day! I woke up excited this morning and decided to stop by The Main Street Pub/ Clifton General Store to do a quick photo shoot with my little watercolor before I deliver it to my customer this afternoon. What I love about this piece is that I painted it to the edge of 9 x 12" cold press paper, but I kept the primary focus within an 8 x 10" space. This provides the customer with 2 size options for matting and framing. Such a pleasure to get to paint one of my favorite places, and just one of the many reasons I'm so very thankful this Thanksgiving. 💚🎨🏠

Oh I am so exhausted, but also so grateful that my 🎨new studio🎨 is officially up and running! On Friday, I spent the day painting the walls, and then Saturday was all about running the kids around to their activities. Today, my hubby helped me rearrange the furniture, move 75% of my materials into the space, put down a new rug, & set up my easel. My kids came by to check out the new digs and have breakfast at the amazing French bakery just steps away, Motier. Highly recommend! I finished the afternoon with doing some detail work on the watercolor commission of the Main Street Pub/ Clifton General Store. 99% finished and what an appropriate 1st painting to work on in the new studio.😊 Meanwhile, I'm working on the contract for another Paint & Sip event in December at a Local Brewery! Stay tuned for another opportunity to paint with me and drink some local brew! 🎨🍻🍺 Thank you all for your support and good wishes!
