My baby boy was born on an island in Thailand in our treehouse home over looking the jungle. With monkeys swinging from trees and the sound of elephants it was truly a special birthing place.
With our flights being cancelled due to Covid we had to make a choice to either have a Thai hospital birth or birth at the treehouse. The more research, the more we knew a homebirth could be possible. 🥹
My doula was a mother figure to me and helped me process old trauma, entering this new stage of motherhood. I was emotionally connected to her and she nurtured me through my birth. After this incredible beautiful natural birth, I knew I wanted to help other women the same way she helped me. I will always have a special place in my heart for her. The most impactful moment of my life, she showed me the strength I had inside myself and lifted me in ways I couldn’t imagine.
I can now support mamas the way she supported me. 🥹
Everything happens for a reason. 🙏☀️🌕💫
Forever Grateful 🥹

✨I AM WOMAN ✨WOMBman 🤰🏻
Can we take a moment to appreciate the uterus 😍
The strongest muscle in the body by weight!
The layers of muscle tissue that run in every direction 💪 A laboring uterus exerts pressure to push a baby out! The strongest force exerted by any muscle in the body😍
The uterus is the only organ that can grow a whole new organ within it. The placenta is absolutely amazing, and is an organ that is grown within the uterus when a woman is pregnant that nourishes and feeds the fetus with exactly what it needs every moment for the entire pregnancy. The placenta connects the mother and baby, through it’s attachment to the uterine wall of the mother and to the baby through the umbilical cord. It’s a physical manifestation of the nurturing of the mother for the baby and is released after the birth of the baby.
The placenta and umbilical cord have a pattern visible in the arteries that looks like the tree of life and is an ancient symbol of life and vitality. 🌲😍
Even when we are not laboring our Uterus is magical✨
Menstrual blood is rich in stem cells which are found to be adaptive within the body to heal a wide variety of diseases. Each month during her fertile years, a woman’s body creates a rich endometrial layer in preparation to grow and nourish a whole new human being. When a baby is not conceived the body releases this extremely valuable and nutritive substance during the menstrual cycle.
The abundance of stem cells in the menstrual blood are being researched to treat a wide variety of conditions from stroke, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Lou Gehrig’s, diabetes, wounds, neurodegenerative diseases and more. Women create the most abundant free source of stem cells during monthly menstrual flows, which is much more ethical to harvest than from cord blood of newborns or from aborted embryos, yet it is slow to catch on because of cultural taboos still surrounding menstruation.
Ofcourse our Uterus’ have so many more positive facts but I think the biggest most special is that WE CREATE HUMANS 🥹 we are here alive on the planet today because we we started life growing within the womb of our mother! ❤️

These are just a few of the amazing hormones we produce. Read on to know more.
During the intricate process of labor, a dynamic interplay of hormones orchestrates the various stages, ensuring the successful culmination of childbirth. Oxytocin takes center stage, stimulating powerful uterine contractions essential for progressing labor and facilitating the delivery of the baby. Prostaglandins contribute to the softening and ripening of the cervix, preparing it for dilation. Estrogen, with its surge as labor approaches, enhances uterine contractions, playing a pivotal role in the initiation of birth. Meanwhile, endorphins, the body's natural pain relievers, are released to alleviate the intensity of contractions and promote a sense of well-being. Adrenaline, initially present in small amounts during early labor, redirects blood flow to vital organs, moderating the pace of contractions and protecting both mother and baby. These hormonal fluctuations collectively create a harmonious orchestration, culminating in the beautiful and adaptive process of childbirth. The benefits of this intricate hormonal dance include effective uterine contractions, pain modulation, and a safeguarding mechanism that ensures the well-being of both mother and baby throughout the transformative journey of labor.

In the journey towards empowered birth choices, it's crucial to recognize that we often need to unlearn long-held misconceptions about childbirth, particularly the notion that hospitals are the sole appropriate setting for delivering babies. Our societal perceptions have been deeply shaped by this belief, but it's essential to question it and consider the broader context.
Knowledge is a powerful tool, especially for expectant mothers who may not be aware of the myriad birth options available to them. My hope is that every woman can realize the immense power she holds during the birthing process, enabling her to make informed decisions about where and how she wants to bring her child into the world—be it in a birthing center, the comfort of her own home, or a hospital setting.
Exploring the possibilities of birthing at home can be a transformative experience, offering women a deeper connection to the birthing process and the freedom to create a comfortable, intimate environment that aligns with their unique desires and needs. It's essential to remember that safety measures and trained professionals are readily available to ensure that home births can be as secure as any other option, granting women the empowering choice of where and how they bring new life into the world.
Research and evidence consistently indicate that home births and birthing centers can be safe and fulfilling options for low-risk pregnancies. The misconception that hospital births are inherently superior primarily stems from historical practices and a focus on medical intervention. However, studies and statistics reveal a different narrative.
For instance, a study published in the British Medical Journal in 2011, which analyzed data from over 65,000 planned home births, found that for low-risk pregnancies, the risk of interventions such as cesarean sections or epidurals was significantly lower compared to hospital births. Furthermore, the same study showed that the rates of perinatal mortality were comparable between home and hospital births for low-risk pregnancies.
In addition, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recognizes that hospitals aren't the only appropriate setting for childbirth. ACOG acknowledges the importance of shared decision-making between the healthcare provider and the expectant mother, ensuring that her preferences and desires are considered in the birthing process.
It's evident that our perceptions about the necessity of hospital births should be reevaluated. As more women embrace the choice of giving birth at home or in birthing centers, guided by careful assessment of their risk factors and desires, we must challenge the assumptions and biases that have long prevailed. Empowering women with the knowledge of their options and the evidence supporting them can lead to more informed and self-directed birth experiences, promoting maternal satisfaction, safety, and well-being.
Furthermore, this shift in awareness signifies a growing acknowledgment that childbirth choices should be as diverse as the women making them, recognizing that safety and positive outcomes are attainable beyond the confines of a hospital setting. It encourages a holistic approach that encompasses a woman's emotional, physical, and psychological well-being throughout her transformative journey into motherhood. Importantly, it's essential to remember that every mother is unique, and the choice of a hospital birth remains a valid and respected option for those who prefer the security and resources that a hospital can provide.

⭐️ The Golden Hour! ⭐️

(In Childbirth)
Is the vital first hour after a baby’s birth. It’s a time of immediate bonding, with the baby placed on the mother’s chest. The skin to skin helps release oxytocin and the uterus contracts which reduces bleeding. The connection between mom and baby boosts baby’s immune system.
Skin to skin for the first 90mins of birth maximizes the chance for babies to be physically ready to breastfeed.
The skin to skin method offers a multitude of compelling benefits.

A birth doula plays a multifaceted role in the childbirth journey. Not only do they offer invaluable physical support, utilizing techniques such as massage, guiding birthing positions, and providing comforting touch as per the mother's preference, but they are also deeply invested in the emotional well-being of both the mother and her partner. Through their presence, doulas guide breathing exercises, share positive birth affirmations, and establish a strong connection with the birthing mother. They contribute to the serene ambiance of the birthing room by suggesting calming elements, assisting with visualizations, and even supporting hypnotherapy for a tranquil birth experience.

Crucially, doulas facilitate a profound connection between the mother and her partner, ensuring that both parents feel present and engaged throughout this transformative process. Serving as unwavering advocates, doulas prioritize effective communication in pre-birth meetings, fostering a relationship with the mother that encourages open and anxiety-free dialogue. They are dedicated to the safety of both the mother and the baby, and their collaboration with birth providers and midwives creates a harmonious, teamwork-oriented environment. In doing so, doulas provide comprehensive information and unwavering support, ensuring that the journey to childbirth is as positive and empowering as possible.
