We are a non-profit organization that works to educate and campaign for change in our community and state for animal welfare.
Mr. Tye is still waiting to find his forever home, or a new foster home. Tye is a younger male with lots of puppy energy to burn. His current foster home is on a farm so he is accustomed to having lots of space to run and play. He will need to go to a home with experience handling young, energetic puppies.
Tye is a sweet boy who loves attention! He knows how to walk on a leash and some basic obedience commands. He gets very excited around other dogs but is friendly once he calms down. We are not sure how he will be around cats. A meet and greet will be required before Tye goes to a foster or forever home with other animals.
Please click the link to complete a foster or adoption application if you would like to meet Tye. We also offer a Foster to Adopt option where you can foster for two weeks to make sure Tye is a good fit for your home before committing to adoption.

Introducing Luna Love! 😻
Luna is still a kitten, fully vetted and ready to find her forever home!
Her foster mom says:
😽She is a very sweet cat and loves attention.
😼She will snuggle, but it has to be on her terms.
💤 At night, she will find her foster family in their beds and sleep with them.
😸She loves to play! Especially with toys that look like bugs. 👾
Luna is not a fan of being picked up unless she is in the mood. She is wary of dogs, but mostly seems to try and observe or avoid them. A meet and greet will be required before she is adopted into a home with other animals.
Please click the link below if you would like to meet Luna. We also offer a Foster to Adopt option where you can foster her for two weeks to make sure she will be a good fit in your home.

Listen Linda...We accept TRAPPED FERAL cats Monday-Thursday.
We are doing our best working to fix this community, BUT the community has to follow our policies to ensure we can continue to help everyone. If you take advantage of this and bring friendly cats in traps they will be sent home. We would fix 75 a day if possible, but we must limit ourselves to ensure safety of the cats and longevity of our team.
There is a difference between FERAL Cats and STRAY Friendly Community Cats! Feral cats have to be trapped in a live animal trap and can come in without an appointment. STRAY Friendly Community Cats can be picked up and placed into a carrier and MUST HAVE an appointment.
Please reach out for information regarding our Community Cat Policy.
IF YOUR TRAPPED CAT IS FOUND TO BE FRIENDLY, IT WILL BE SENT HOME AND AN APPOINTMENT WILL NEED TO BE MADE.

Calling all small dog lovers!
Julia has been working so hard on all of her training! She has come so far!!
🐾loves to cuddle
🐾still has puppy breath
🐾less than a year old
🐾kennel trained
🐾leash trained
🐾likes to be held like a baby
Julia was pulled from a home with many other dogs. While we think she’s potty trained we still don’t know for sure yet. She does well with other dogs around as long as they’re not approaching with a lot of energy. She is still very nervous around new people, animals, and kids. She is still very sweet and only reacts by trying to run away if she feels scared.

When the weather turns chilly, Adopt a Senior Pet Month reminds us some four-legged friends need a family, too. In November, consider making a home for an older furry pet during Adopt a Senior Pet Month.
While the wriggly puppies and kittens make us smile with delight, you'd be surprised how well an older animal might fit into your lifestyle. Often, they have mellowed and lost some of their toddler energy. They don't need the extra attention a puppy or kitten would require. If they need training, it is only specific to your home and routine.
🍭👻We had so much fun passing out candy at Wheatfield’s Trick or treat Bash! 🍭👻

Do you like to drive and want to help our rescue pets? AAPS is looking for volunteer transport drivers.
🚙 Transport drivers to spay/neuter appointments must have van, minivan or SUV.
🚙 Spay neuter appointments are usually in Lubbock or Amarillo on the first Thursday of the month. The fosters meet the driver at Hobby Lobby in Clovis early in the morning (around 4-4:30 am.) You are not required to stay at the clinic all day. Most people do some shopping or catch a movie while they wait.
🚙We occasionally need help getting our pets to Hereford or Tucumcari for routine vet appointments.
🚗We also need drivers who can deliver food and supplies to our fosters.
Any help is appreciated! Please click the link to complete a volunteer application: https://forms.gle/6czqjntmg39d3mVg6

Please think about the wildlife as you decorate your Halloween Pumpkins.
It's that time of year again - when people yell at strangers on the internet about proper pumpkin care and wildlife health.
Things to consider this spooky season regarding your delicious orange porch snack, aka, your decorative pumpkin:
✨ Remember: Critters will likely eat (or at least nibble on!) your carved jack-o’-lanterns. Squirrels, raccoons, deer, moose, foxes, mice and insects might feast on the tasty treat you left out near your front door. “How nice of you!” they probably think as they eat their weight in slimy pumpkin goodness.
✨ Painted pumpkins can make for an easier way to create a fun or creepy jack-o'-lantern. However, a painted pumpkin can potentially be toxic to wildlife if they eat it. If you choose to paint your pumpkin, please keep it indoors and away from any critters who might feast on its painted flesh. You can also explore nontoxic paint options made with natural ingredients when possible.
✨ In recent years, social media users have posted various “tricks” to keep a carved pumpkin from rotting so quickly. Keep in mind that letting nature take its course is always an option. Carved pumpkins are eventually going to decompose one way or another. Always follow the directions of any product you’re applying to a pumpkin for your safety and others’ (including wildlife!).
Check out the comments to see more tips on how to keep pumpkins safe for wildlife.
