❤️❤️A letter from the owners of one of our patients that crossed the rainbow bridge. He will be deeply missed ❤️❤️
"You took wonderful care of our beloved Trampus; we miss him every day with his mischievousness and happy face but we had him to share adventures with for 15 years.
Trampus was a rescue from the Park County Shelter in 2007
just 7 months old. He had been dumped on the street. It was someone else's loss as we gained the most wonderful scamp. Our brother trained border collies and was a stock dog judge in Cody and helped us through the terrible twos. He was the best dog ever - loved by whomever he met. Thank you Amanda and staff for caring for him so well."

Congratulations to our Hailey and Josh on some incredible puppies!
Have a wonderful holiday!
Today, we would like to remember Rooster Volmer. His people wanted to share his story with you so that he may never be forgotten.
"We adopted Rooster in September 2015 from a Facebook post. He was a 2 and 1/2 year old black lab that had been kenneled his entire life and was considered a disappointment to his previous family as he would not hunt birds and was terrified of guns. After several frustrating months, Rooster "clicked" in our family and realized that he was going to be loved, appreciated, and spoiled. He spent the next almost 9 years of his life sleeping the couch or on the bed of his favorite girl, and he learned to swim, camp, and play with other dogs. He was ALWAYS found with a tennis ball and could play fetch for hours. Rooster was 100 pounds of goofiness, love, loyalty, and devotion to his family. Although we miss him terribly, we are so honored that we were able to love Rooster and give him the best life possible."

Below is a memorial for a good boy named Ranger, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. He will forever be remembered on our "Gidgy Tree." We are so sorry for your loss.
"Today I lost a part of myself, my concious, my anchor, my precious brave boy Ranger. Range became a member of our posse 10 years ago at the age of 5. He took a chance and escaped from a "human" who took him in exchange for a debt he was owed. While driving thru cody, from Las Vegas Range took a leap of faith and refused to return to his captor. So alone he sat in the middle of the west strip on a tattered towel that was thrown out with a filthy food bowl. When the sun came up commuters noticed this sad sight and tried to corral him to no avail. The clerk at rodeo west and a vet tech on her way to work encouraged him into the wapiti RANGER station yard. His chip said he was from Las Vegas.. His captor was located and said to put him down. He didnt want him. HOW can "humans" be so cruel.? He was signed over to the vet and became our Boy,A year to the day that our BUSTER BOY left us Ranger came to us. Ranger became our 30th rescued golden. Ranger was shaved with a mens bic shaver. NO HAIR! Razor burns and scapes he had to wear a tee shirt for a month. All he had was a p**f of hair on his head. I wanted to tell the "owner" what I thought of him...but all can say is thank you for NOT loving him, thank you for NOT wanting him... because you gave me the most precious gift of all. RANGER. After 39 years of being blessed by all these senior goldens there comes along a very special one a soulmate. One that will be not only be a wonderful memory...but one that will live in my heart daily as my earthly journey continues. RANGER was the sweetest, kindest most gentle trusting friend. Welcoming and comforting sick, homeless unwanted and traumatized seniors over years as well as in transition Battle buddie youngsters. I have been so blessed to have been chosen to share my life with him . So, thank you my precious boy for every moment we had, the unconditional love and being my conscious. You are the light in the darkness of this world, your light will shine in my heart always. I will see you at the bridge."

"Remi was such a kind, courageous, and confident dog. She was so loyal to me, she went on every road trip, every horn hunting trip, every horseback ride, and every rodeo. Remi never complained, she was happy to be with me, whether I was laying in bed all day or doing anything, she was right by my side. I knew she was the one when I first met her at the Park County Animal Shelter, she wasn’t all excited or jumping around but she watched every step I took, and I chose to bring her home, from that point on she was with me all the time. I will forever miss her in my life, but I know she’ll always be in my heart."

Remi will be remembered on our Gidgy Tree. She was a wonderful dog and we were glad to be a part of her story.
A few weeks ago the Prairie Summit Team spent time continuing their education learning how to improve their small animal dental technique with our newest purchase of a dental x ray unit. This technology as it will give us a better look at what is going on in your pets mouth so we can make the best decisions for their comfort. We are thrilled to have this modality for our patients!

Yesterday we had a two-fer! Our second baby came late that evening and much anticipated! The best part is that this momma was the first client foal born at Prairie Summit! Velvet gave birth to a beautiful sorrel filly! Bittersweet for sure!
Today we are remembering a wonderful dog named Fancy.
"Fancy was a well-loved, happy dog. She always trotted, except when she was checking for the latest intruder into the yard. She alerted me when visitors were at the door. She accepted all comers with a tail wag.
Her herding instincts were strong. In an uphill chase with a racoon, the racoon became winded and stopped running. Fancy waited until the racoon recovered, ran on, with her in hot pursuit.
Forever in my heart."

❤️❤️❤️This morning we would like to share some memories of Copper, who is memorialized on our Gidgy Tree. ❤️❤️❤️
"Copper was a relinquished basset hound at a Wyoming shelter. He came into Wyoming Basset Hound Rescue when he was 16 months old. He was placed in two different homes, before coming back to
WBHR due to no fault of his own. At that time Allen and Holly Moen adopted him. Copper was his own dog, preferring people over other dogs. He played fine with his basset hound ‘brother’ Oscar, but no new dogs could come into the family. He loved going hiking and camping and being outside. He left us
too soon and is greatly missed." - Holly Moen
Kenzie's been putting in some good time learning the job ❤️ and becoming a wonderful early morning assistant!
Our very own Lindsey Wilson and her amazing c**t Chuck! Congratulations to Trout Creek Ranch crew as well!

Below is a memorial for sweet Oscar, who will be remembered among others on our "Gidgy Tree". We hope you enjoy his story, and we send love to all that knew him!
Oscar was born a puppy mill basset hound, who was sold from a pet store in Montana. After two homes he came into Wyoming Basset Hound Rescue, at just shy of 2 years old. Allen and Holly Moen fostered him and then adopted him. Oscar was a clown in basset hound clothing! Always making everyone laugh. He was nicknamed ‘butt boy’, because he’d swing his butt around at you and look over his shoulder, with his cute, docked tail, trying to get you to play. His sweet ‘talking’ and playful personality are greatly missed.
