3 Dog Rescue
"3 Dog Rescue" is a 501(c)3 non-profit, all volunteer organization based in Cody, WY created in 2008 to rehome dogs of ALL breeds throughout the Bighorn Basin.
Notice the number of dogs that keep watch over this group of chickens and roosters!
"JoJo" is a really sweet and loving girl (4.5 yrs. old) who lost her original home with the addition of new family members. She just doesn't care to be around toddlers and rowdy kids. I can totally relate as I feel the same way. She is great in the house and would be a super partner for hiking, boating, camping, and just hanging out. She is NOT a hunting dog and prefers to just be with her people 24/7.
"Brody" was approximately 9 months old when he was found abandoned on the side of the road coming out of Sunlight Basin. He had a rope tied around his neck, was emaciated, and obviously had been badly abused. A good samaratan in Cody took him home and nurse him back to health. A year later he is neutered, vaccinated and still fearful of men. He is house trained and has some strong herding instincts, but with some patience will be a fabulous companion, hiking and working dog.
UPDATE: AFTER EXTENSIVE XRAYS AND EVALUATION, D.J. WAS FOUND TO HAVE AN INJURY TO HIS NECK WHICH SOMETIMES CAUSES HIM TO LOSE MOBILITY OF HIS RIGHT FRONT FOOT. IT IS ABLE TO BE CONTROLLED WITH MEDICATION AND IS INOPERABLE.
HE WILL BE GOING INTO A FOSTER HOME WITH THE HOPES OF BEING HIS FOREVER HOME. D.J. is a very handsome light blonde purebred neutered Golden Retriever whose family cannot deal with TWO - TWO yr. olds!!! He's great with everyone including the toddler, but mom needs a break! And as you know, puppies also require a lot of attention. If interested, as with all our dogs, please email us for an application.
I apologize for not promptly posting as I normally do, but I've been under-the-weather. We have placed "Gunner" the bulldog in a home in Sheridan, WY, "Tank" the big Rez puppy in Cody and "Dog" went to a forever home in Hanna, WY. Please don't forget about "Mick" the Yellow Lab/Husky, "Luna" the Black Mouth Cur/Rhodesia Ridgeback, and puppies galore at the New Hope facility in Worland.
I feel the same way about Bacon!!!
It was such an honor and pleasure to have Cassandra stop by to meet my two boys, Clancy (pictured with our gift) and Budley the basset. She also met Luna the foster and Mick the husky/lab. Her donation is so thoughtful and always needed. We are still having to turn dogs away which is very sad, but are still taking emergency situations if we can.
We made a donation to 3 Dog Rescue on Monday evening. It was so nice to sit and talk with Kathy for a while to see all she is doing and even meet some of the pups. The total was $300 and if you're looking for a wonderful pup she's got some good ones. Check out Luna the Mountain Cur dog...sweet as can be.💜💜
Also Saturday's Mother's Day sale a total of $45 was donated to Big Dogs Huge Paws .
We want to thank everyone for all your purchases. We are all helping rescues one baked good at a time.
The owner of this sweet red heeler is terminally ill and sadly has to rehome him. "Waylon Jennings" is his name and he is very loved. He is NOT a working heeler and is neutered, vaccinated and only two years old. He lives with a smaller dog and is good with cats. And yes, his tail is docked. This is an emergency situation so please email us for an application at [email protected], text (307) 250-2262.
"Luna" is 100% Black Mouth Cur. If you are not familiar with the breed, look on Wikipedia as they are very interesting to say the least. "Luna" is a sleek 50 lb. alpha female who is leary of strangers and is a super watchdog, yet she is very loving and loyal to her people. She is 4 years old (and soon to be 5) and loves to play with toys as well as other dogs. She loves to run and needs a large yard, but most of all she needs her people. She is currently in foster care as she would be too stressed in a shelter or kennels. She has had seizures in the past and is on medication that has since controlled her seizures and we have complete history with medical records. Won't you come meet this pretty girl?
We have been fostering "Mick" the Yellow Lab mix for several weeks now and he is a really nice and loving boy. He is approximately 1-2 yrs. old, now neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He and his brother (who is now with Friends of Yola's Rescue) and a female yellow lab with a litter of puppies were at the Head Start school in Riverton when authorities were notified. The only reason "Mick" was caught was he was dumpster diving and he couldn't escape! He is now enjoying life in a real home, with regular meals, and other dogs to play with. He is still very much a puppy, but absorbing so much love. He is learning to walk on a leash and needs an active person who loves to hike, camp, fish and GO everywhere.
I am very proud to say that Dane & Jenn have been working VERY HARD to complete the new Powell Bed & Biscuit. I was able to take a tour this morning and it will be absolutely amazing once completed! OPENING SOON!!!!
