Today would have been my Mama’s 85th birthday. I love Juneteenth and in her honor I made her famous salmon croquettes, broccoli and kale, Mac and cheese with sweet honey cornbread. Our Deddy and us loved them. love you heavenly Deddy and Mama.

Thought about Mama this morning, made homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs with cheese, turkey bacon, and grits. Mama used to make those big b***y homemade biscuits with eggs and grits in Sunday mornings. I miss my Mama.

Didn’t want to get dressed to go to brunch but had to eat before grading papers. So I made fried catfish with shrimp sauce. Grits, deep roasted potatoes for garnish and homemade sweet cornbread muffins. I know most people would put the sauce over the grits…. But my hubby said naw..🤣🤣

Tried something new Jamaican fish cakes (made with roasted red snapper), Collard Greens,Coconut rice with beans and sweet honey cornbread. Hubby loved it

So I thing happened.. I had a client who asked if I could chicken and waffles…challenge accepted. I made Belgium waffles and fried wings with a honey butter and spicy rub for breakfast. They were the bomb.

Today four years ago, I married my best friend, my lover, my helper, and my backbone. We have survived and thrived through a pandemic, illness, promotion, and new business endeavors. You make me better everyday and I love you more and more. God knew what he was doing when carved you out for me.

Sounds like it is coming from a place of privilege also remember there is NO individuals from underrepresented populations on the board. This is a targeted effort at a specific group of people…silence gets you nothing…..if you were tagged it’s because you have influence.

So yesterday I got my husband flowers. About two months ago my daughter Jianna lost her father. When we were driving on Sunday my daughter said to me why is it the only time men get flowers is when they are dead. We always say give people their flowers while they yet live. I made a decision to gift him flowers. When Evan walked in after a hard day he said I know you didn’t get me no flowers. I said I got you flowers because as Jianna said men only get flowers when they die. He smiled and said “facts”. I know men may not like flowers or think they are too feminine but if is never too feminine randomly appreciate our men like we like to be appreciated. Let normalize giving our men flowers every so often… the smile is priceless.

Dinner tonight new menu item.. Fried Jerk salmon bites, cheddar mashed potatoes, green beans, and rolls for dinner. Variety of salmon bites will be added for the summer. Your choice of jerk, honey garlic, and bang bang.

Mother’s Day dinner for the family… I wanted something that I couldn’t find at a restaurant so I made it. Red beans and rice, cornbread dressing, candied yams, mac and cheese, broccoli, fried chicken tenders, and rolls. With sweet tea and a blueberry cobbler. Whew I am full(pictured above was my hubby’s plate) 😊

My superbly line sisters who showed up to make my daughter’s day better. They did the dang thang.. exemplified true sisterhood and the line sisters who couldn’t come made sure my baby received so much love

Made some lemon pepper salmon on top of parmesan and broccoli couscous with a side of roasted butternut squash for dinner tonight 😁

For my usual Sunday Dinner, I had to go all out by making garlic honey chicken and salmon with Spicy balsamic glazed brussel sprouts with butter garlic pasta with roasted mushrooms and peppers with yeast rolls on the side

Beef and spinach crepe styled manicotti for dinner tonight.Stuffed ravioli coming soon.

Crepe styled seafood manicotti made with lobster, shrimp, and crawfish topped with a crawfish bechamel sauce. Instead of those store bought noodles I made crepe pasta. It is lighter and fresher.
