Courage...bravery...service...D-Day...
“What you can see so vividly in Normandy, looking down the beaches, is all that sacrifice and all that effort was for a world that did not then exist. It was a transforming event, and it was not just a clash of men and arms, but a clash between values and ideals of liberty, freedom and justice on one hand and on the other hand, oppression, governing by terror, conquest and censorship.” -Thomas Hatfield (https://www.theeagle.com/news/local/historian-explores-rudder-s-world-war-ii-legacy-at-bryan/article_1de8f6be-874f-11e9-8f10-e7e73e251c3f.html)

Military Heritage Center coming to Veterans Park The Military Heritage Center has a D-Day event coming up in June, but they have a lot of plans for the future as well.
This week, an amazing Aggie is celebrating! Tom “Ike” Morris, the oldest living Former Student, is 108!
If you visited the Texas Aggies Go to War exhibit at the Stark Galleries, you may have seen Ike as part of the Wall of Honor, where Aggies and Brazos Valley residents who served were displayed. The Wall of Honor will be a permanent part of the Military Heritage Center.
On this 74th anniversary of D-Day, we remember Gen. James Earl Rudder, his Rangers, and all the brave Americans who bravely stormed the beaches of France.

Today and everyday, we remember those who gave all so their nation and its citizens could be free. That includes Joe Routt and Turney Leonard, whose bravery and sacrifice in World War II will inspire Aggies and Americans for generations.
From Bastogne to Texas, Inc. has been hard at work in the past few months since the future Military Heritage Center had land for its home provided by the City of College Station in Veterans Park. Thank you for your continued interest and support! We want to let you know we are working on changing this page into one of the online homes for the center, so don't be surprised if there's a name change.
