It is with great sadness that we inform you that our good friend, David Kelly, passed away yesterday evening.
Per Bob Egan our President: "David was a driving force behind the CCFAAA, as well as the building of the Central Fire Station as the Mayor of Colleyville. David gave and supported many organizations, never looking for or wanting any credit. To say the world lost a great soul today is an understatement."
David will be missed by us all.
If a small grease or cooking fire starts, smother the flames by sliding a lid over the pan and turning off the burner. Leave the pan covered until it is completely cooled. For more cooking tips, visit: http://nfpa.social/5Wli50PViyF

Today, October 8th, is the 152nd anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire. During October 8-10, 1871, the Great Chicago Fire burned over 2,100 acres, destroyed over 17,000 buildings, and claimed the lives of hundreds. Immediately following the fire, new laws, standards, and regulations were put into place for fire safety and building construction.
Since President Coolidge proclaimed Fire Prevention Week in 1925, each year Fire Prevention Week is observed during the week of October 9th. This week we will share fire safety tips to help you stay safe in case of a fire in commemoration of the Great Chicago Fire.

The Colleyville Fire Department has recently been a key part in several state-wide mobilizations of personnel and equipment in response to a series of wildfires ravaging over 1,000 acres. As requested by state agencies, the department swiftly swung into action, exhibiting our firefighting and emergency management skills.
