This week we jump right into our summer curriculum with the theme WELCOME SUMMER! We will be talking all about what we do in summer, what the weather is like, what we like about summer, and start our special daily projects! Today we started our Summer fun with beach ball fun and beach ball painting!

This week we will be continuing to learn about the Arctic with a week about Arctic Animals and Hibernation! We will learn which animals live in the Arctic and they hibernate! Did you know that not all Arctic animals hibernate? What a fun week ahead!

This week we take a trip to the Arctic to explore weather, animals, and landscape! We will learn through songs, books, art projects, and other fun! Did you know that January is the coldest month in the Arctic? The cold season lasts for 3.6 months, from November 7 to February 25, with an average daily high temperature below 16°F. The coldest month of the year in North Pole is January, with an average low of -13°F and high of 3°F.

Winter looks different in different areas of the world--all of our school experience such different climates year-round, check out the current weather!

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!

Do you have a big family and a large "kids table" for your thanksgiving feast? Here are a few ideas to make the day more fun and add a little crafting to their day and make it truly a day to be thankful for!

To create a whimsical experience and keep little hands busy, cover the kids’ table with rolls of drawing paper instead of traditional tablecloths. Use empty cans of Thanksgiving staples like cranberries and pumpkin to hold crayons and other art supplies. Encourage kids to create their own colorful placemats. This helps kids to remember where they are sitting and provides a great outlet for creativity.

For a kid-made centerpiece, let them decorate pre-cut Thanksgiving images like turkeys, corn and the Mayflower. When the cutouts are done, use tape or hot glue to affix a toothpick to the back, then place them in a flower pot filled with floral foam. As new cutouts are done, kids can watch how their artwork is used to produce a unique Thanksgiving-themed centerpiece

LEGO CRAZY!!!! Today we finish off our week of Lego Camp with all things Lego and fun! Children will get to choose what to build or make as we end the week! HAPPY FRIDAY!

Today we created another way using Legos. We stamped and painted using bricks of different shapes and sizes to create a masterpiece!

Working together to create is something we are always working on here at OUAC! Today we worked in groups to build with Legos!
