Jim Sharp, Psychotherapy
The ultimate goal of my practice is to return people to their natural instinctive self.
In this experience, people come back to making choices from their gut, rather than from past or present painful experiences and conditioning from external influences.
If we want our relationships to flourish, we need to deliberately take on the task of becoming a good communicator. This path is often ambiguous, which creates the chaos we experience in our lives. I have created a model called the Deliberate Communication Model, which helps as a guidewire through the uncertainty that comes up along the way.
Anger is a powerful emotional for positive change in our lives. If we listen to our culture's story of anger, then anger will most likely be an emotion that will sabotage us from the life we truly want. A person in alignment with using anger as a tool for transformation, questions all circumstances where anger was used to make choices in life.
You are amazing.
We often choose people who have weathered a storm or two with us. At some point along our path we may choose to move to a better paradigm to live within. Perhaps it is moving from a expectation (control) to expectancy (magic) experience. Major shifts in how we experience the world happen most in how we deal with life when it turns sideways.
ie: What if our best friend's default is to show up in a down period with a bottle of alcohol (to escape) and supports us through all our patterns of limited thought while we are in an emotional state? Will we have shifted paradigms or reinforced the same ol? This isn't a post about getting rid of friends, it's about how much authority we give people when we are in a limited perspective state.
If you could dream and experience everything you believe would make you happy, you would eventually become bored. It would become mundane. You would then ask to be surprised and you will like the excitement that comes from those mysterious challenging dreams. You come to realize that the surprise "challenges" are the gift of the journey.
Are you simply living this reality day to day?
We must be what we want to attract. It's common practice to want happiness, and then seek it outside of us by relying on the current circumstances to make us happy. This is forcing it. We have to change first, then our circumstances change around us.
Anger and sadness are two emotions that limit our perspective. Once a greater perspective is reached, advising a partner of this as soon as possible is well advised. They will process the relationship from their end, by the last words that were spoken.
Those with the best awareness can let their partner know of their limited perspective in the moment.
Couples often focus most or all of their attention on the details of the how a fight went down. What is lost in this blinded focus is the root of why feelings were hurt and emotions ran high. Discovering the root of the issues is where the good stuff is gained for deepening relationships.
It is counter intuitive that it is our struggles that liberate us from the lies we tell ourselves.
In a world saturated in junk values, teaching children virtues, provides a guideline for juicy living.
For those who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) like me... a twist in attitude can go a very long way.
Sometimes divorcing parents forget...
Too often, in the turbulent pain that happens during a divorce, parents sometimes demonize their ex partner through their children. They forget that children are 50% of each parent. As they are devaluing the other, they are at the same time devaluing that part of their child.

Bliscipline:
When we are doing what we love, getting things done is easy peasy. When we try to force ourselves to be disciplined, we lose the magic of our contribution to the world.
