Album Rescue! Carefully remove cover and binding. Scan each page in its entirety at high resolution. Reassemble, inserting sheet of unbuffered archival tissue between pages (prevents acid migration and reduces photo abrasion). Then wrap entire album in unbuffered archival tissue (leather requires unbuffered tissue) and house in archival box with tissue puffs to keep album from shifting in the box. This album, from the 1910s-1930s, will last another 100 years! And the family can enjoy digital copies today.
