Colarelli Construction, Inc. is a commercial construction contractor located out of downtown Colorado Colarelli Construction opened in the beginning of 2003.
is a commercial construction contractor located out of downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. We regularly work as a general contractor, construction manager, design-builder and development partner. Our services include project development, preconstruction planning, construction design, project coordination, project management and self-performance of specialty construction trades. Colarelli Construc
For the month of November, Colarelli Construction is hosting a food drive to benefit Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado. Not only are CCI employees collecting food and funds to benefit our neighbors in Southern Colorado, but we’ve also added a twist to this drive – we’ve invited several of our subcontractors to engage in a friendly competition. The subcontractor that raises the most will get lunch provided for their office (or jobsite of their choice), not to mention bragging rights!
Colarelli Construction is proud to announce Randi Wikoff as the recipient of the very first CCI Innovation Incubator Award. Over the past year, Randi researched both the philosophy behind and the practical implementation of a “Lessons Learned Database.”
CCI’s Innovation Incubator Program was established in 2023 to institutionalize innovative thinking within the organization; the program invites employees to explore ideas that will both improve operations and positively impact company culture.
Driving Randi’s incubator work was the fear that, although CCI’s company culture has always been focused on learning, when those lessons are not documented or retained for current or new employees, we risk both repeating mistakes and losing valuable lessons learned. Thus, her research centered around finding a manner for CCI to document, retain, and disseminate organizational wisdom—and to do so in a manner that would serve as a bridge between the experiences of older generations and the web-based research tendencies of our younger generations.
Randi explored several avenues and technological platforms in order to generate her finished product: a Lessons Learned Database on the newly launched CCI Learning Hub. Thanks to Randi’s efforts, CCI’s new Lesson Learned Database makes technical lessons learned, unique solutions, project strategies, and more information readily available for Colarelli Construction employees on a web-based platform.
As a part of the new CCI “Learning Hub” platform, Randi’s Lessons Learned Database is easily searchable, and searchable through various methods—from locating lessons with keywords to sorting lessons by CSI Division number. It is also a database that is easily updated; as new lessons are submitted, reviewed, and approved for publication, they can be entered into the database in a matter of minutes. Thus, this innovative and dynamic tool is easy-to-use, both by employees searching for knowledge and by those inputting additional lessons learned.
Rather than scouring the internet for a quick answer to a question, this database encourages CCI’s team to search in-house, where we will find an actual Colarelli Construction employee who documented what he/she has learned and who can provide further insight and guidance through conversation and collaboration.
Ultimately, Randi’s Lessons Learned Database connects past CCI experiences to future jobs, so that we avoid repeating mistakes and avoid losing critical lessons that we have already learned to streamline or otherwise improve projects.
We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of Jen Buckley and Jessica Henry in this initiative. Both provided valuable insight and expertise to this process and were integral to the creation and launch. Thank you both.

The second, Employee Housing, will provide temporary housing for hospital staff as the need for healthcare workers continues to grow.

Servant Leadership is a key part of our organizations foundation and its principals heavily impact how we behave. We are spending some time reflecting on each principle and why it is important to our team. The fourth Principle of Servant Leadership is Empathy.
In the realm of leadership, there is a timeless and invaluable quality that sets great leaders apart from the rest: empathy. Empathy, as a core value of Servant Leadership, is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, to put oneself in their shoes, and to genuinely connect with their experiences. It is a quality that transforms ordinary leaders into extraordinary ones, forging deep relationships and fostering a culture of trust and compassion within organizations.
Empathy in leadership goes beyond mere sympathy or understanding. It requires actively listening to others, seeking to comprehend their perspectives, and acknowledging their emotions. By doing so, leaders create an environment where individuals feel heard, valued, and supported. When employees know their leaders genuinely care about their well-being, it cultivates a sense of loyalty and commitment, leading to increased productivity and overall satisfaction.
Brb, spending this cold morning wishing we were all together at our summer picnic🥶
Servant Leadership is a key part of our organizations foundation and its principals heavily impact how we behave. We are spending some time reflecting on each principle and why it is important to our team. The third Principle of Servant Leadership is Building Community.
Servant Leaders work to build strong positive relationships and are willing to accept the differences of others as a strength for the collective. They encourage collaborative work over competition and are committed to building a sense of belonging and community throughout the entire organization. Performing will always be a priority, but servant leaders are also concerned with the health and strength of the team and the overall sense of community presence throughout the organization.
At Colarelli Construction, we build community by building relationships. Sometimes this is as simple as bringing donuts to jobsites, or stopping by someone's cubical. No matter how simple, it is always intentional.
Working collaboratively is another way we build community. We must take the time to work together, learn from one another, and become stronger as a team than we could be as individuals.
Finally, valuing our differences and knowing the power of bringing these differences together into a collaborative community that is committed to each other and the end goal of successful projects builds a strong sense of community within our organization.
Servant Leadership is a key part of our organizations foundation and its principals heavily impact how we behave. We are spending some time reflecting on each principle and why it is important to our team. The second Principle of Servant Leadership is Commitment to the Growth of People.
Commitment is defined as the quality of being dedicated to a cause or activity. As an organization and as individual Colarelli Construction employees we are all committed to the success of our projects and in turn the growth of the company. This success and growth is fostered by our relationships with our clients, our relationships with subcontractors, and the continuous development of all of us within the organization.
Our success as a company begins with our commitment to the development of those around us. How does one become successful in the role they are given? They receive guidance and mentorship from another who has successfully walked that path before them. It is each of our responsibility as Colarelli Construction employees to assist our coworkers when we are able. An environment that promotes growth and development also inspires growth and development.
Servant Leadership is a key part of our organizations foundation and its principals heavily impact how we behave. We are spending some time reflecting on each principle and why it is important to our team. The first principle of Servant Leadership is Stewardship.
Stewardship is the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.
What are we entrusted with? The company values, the company reputation and the company finances. We did nothing to earn these, they are given upon our employment.
It’s up to each of us individually to manage these to the best of our ability and carry them further. Good stewardship is rewarded and we will be held accountable for what we do with each one of these while they are in our care.
To model good stewardship we have to be responsible and transparent. Responsible for people and work in our care. Transparent with your team and your client.
Remember, we follow clients and industries, not projects. Cultivate those relationships and be a good steward of the gifts you are given!
One of our greatest honors as Colarelli Construction, Inc. and Colarelli Custom Homes employees is getting to bless these amazing young adults with items on their wish list during the holidays! We are so grateful for our partnership with Fostering Hope!
