This little one was determined to be a Doctor for the day, so he was just that! Good news, him and our RDH were both cavity free!! ๐คฉ๐ฆท
We are so excited to have Sherri back with us! She had a transplant in Dallas Texas back in December. She has had a heck of a time with the healing process, but in true Sherri fashion, she has persevered! She even broke records with the healing time for the hospital in Dallas. (WhooHoo!!๐ฅณ)) To ease the transition back, she will be in a couple days a week for now. We have missed her, it feels great to have the gang back together again! When you are in for your next visit, if she is here, give her a big welcome back! ๐ฆท๐
This week Dr. Williams' children brought their preschool classes to the office to learn about oral health! They got a tour of the office and learned they should be brushing 2 times a day for 2 minutes every time. They also got a demonstration on how to properly floss. We loved having these inquisitive and bright young kiddos at the office this week!!
We will be closed today, December 22nd due to the inclement weather. โ๏ธ

Shout out to who did an amazing job designing these crowns!
The tongue attaches to the floor of the mouth with a web of tissue called the lingual frenulum. The lingual frenulum may be shortened or thickened; restricting movement of the tongue, or it may tether the tongue too close to the tip. Tongue-tie may affect an infantโs ability to latch effectively during breastfeeding and can cause maternal symptoms during breastfeeding, as well. Tongue-tie may also cause mechanical difficulties in the childโs speech and oral hygiene.
Tongue-tie may be suspected in infants or children who have difficulty with the following:
* Breastfeeding
* Lifting their tongue
* Sticking the tongue out (the tongue may appear notched or heart-shaped when the child attempts to do so)
* Moving the tongue from side to side
* Licking their lips or sweeping food debris from the teeth
Frenectomy is a surgical procedure to release the frenulum so the tongue can move more freely.
Most babies can feed immediately afterward. Speech therapy and tongue exercises may be part of the process. If not corrected may cause problems with the development of oral cavity, leaving
to other oral health problems.
This has to be one of our favorite transformations yet, not only from the amazing result but the heart warming story behind it. This patient lost her front teeth in her teenage years and that started a habit of talking and laughing with her hand in front of her mouth. She would smile with her lips together in hopes no one would notice her missing teeth. She came to us with the mindset of full extractions and placing dentures as she thought that was her only option for a new smile. After meeting with Dr. Williams and realizing her existing teeth were healthy, she was ready to start treatment replacing the missing teeth! With each visit, her hand slowly moved away from her mouth and her smile widened. By the final visit, we were able to see her big beautiful smile without the distraction of her hand and the habit was broken!
We had the ๐น๐ผ๐๐ patient today, and he was ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ธ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ด๐ด!
โจTRANSFORMATION TUESDAY โจ
In some cases, patients want to align most of their teeth, but still have some character to their smile. This is the perfect example, this one absolutely loved her canines, and wanted to keep them just as they were, but align the others properly. She was so excited to be finished and still have the unique smile, absolutely beautiful.
