Last week, Tigers showed up and showed off their career readiness for the Spring Business Career Fair. From networking with recruiters to taking professional headshots, students took full advantage of all aspects of the Career Fair to grow in their professional development and secure that job or internship.
With 181 different companies and 1,300+ students, it was one of the most successful Spring Business Career Fairs we’ve had in recent years! This wouldn’t be possible without the amazing dedication of the BCS team, especially Lindsay Hing. Huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and efforts to make this event run smoothly 🙌

Business Career Services

One of our favorite activities that we facilitate in BCS is the "Duct Tape Wallet Challenge," especially when we work with a group of phenomenal students.

From the Mizzou International Experience, these students were tasked with collaborating in small teams to build a duct tape wallet company. From there, they design a wallet, build a marketing campaign, and then pitch their idea to our "investors." It is a fun yet challenging way to show students how a business model works! We always have a blast putting this event on, and the students had a great time!

BCS is “kiln” it with the early festive activities!

Yesterday our office had our yearly holiday retreat with a yummy lunch followed by ceramic painting at Mud Room and it was a blast! Thank you to Director Matt Reiske for treating our office to such a fun outing 😄

It’s been a busy month for BCS - here’s a look at what we’ve been up to!

1-2: We hosted the Altria Case Competition on November 3rd & 4th. Pictures are the first and second place winners. They did a fantastic job and represented Mizzou well!

3: Our Office Support Assistant Molly attended the Collegiate DECA Engage Conference on November 3rd-5th and got to watch our DECA chapter put their networking and professionalism skills to work! We had 5 students place for the sales competition which was so incredibly awesome to witness!

4: Our office won Overall Best Costume in the building costume contest for “Witches of Eastwick.” Way to go, ladies!!

5-8: Finally, we had the privilege of working with 4 fantastic companies to host site visits this semester! Students had the chance to visit Marsh McLennan & AssuredPartners or EquipmentShare and American Outdoor Brands. All of the students learned so much about these companies and were a great representation for Mizzou Tigers!

That’s a wrap on this recap! Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work into putting these events on for our students. It is always wonderful to see students grow professionally through the services our office provides.
