Felix Facchine for Howard County Democratic Central Committee
Candidate for HoCo Dem Central Committee. Auth: Neighbors for Felix Facchine; Meghan Lynch, Treas.
With the majority of votes counted, our campaign will come up short of earning a victory in the race for Howard County Democratic Central Committee. While I was not successful in this race, I’m so proud of the positive, issue-focused campaign that we ran over the last six months.
I am deeply grateful to the family, friends, neighbors, and community members who volunteered their time, energy, and passion in this campaign. I cannot even begin to express my deepest appreciation for your encouragement. In particular, I want to thank Collin Sullivan and Maureen Evans Arthurs for their constant advice, support, and friendship throughout this race. I also want to thank Meghan Lynch for being a steadfast friend and a fabulous campaign treasurer. And I am especially thankful to Saad Usmani for his constant support, patience, and understanding throughout this process.
I ran for Central Committee because I believe in our party’s vision of caring for our neighbors, fighting for civil rights, and taking action on the pressing challenges of our time. To deliver on our party’s promises, we have work to do. As a party, we must build – not burn – bridges in our community. We must invest in our local party infrastructure and engage more people in the democratic process. There is so much on the line in this election, and we cannot fail to meet this moment.
While this election is over for me, we all must unite and take on the tall work ahead of us in November by electing Wes Moore as our next Governor, Anthony Brown as our next Attorney General, and Brooke Lierman as our next Comptroller. And in Howard County, we must build on the progress we have made by re-electing County Executive Calvin Ball and electing Democrats to office in every corner of our county.
I’d like to offer my congratulations to the members-elect of the Democratic Central Committee. After being on the campaign trail with many of you over the last several months, I look forward to supporting you in the hard work that is building and growing our local party.
Thank you all again for your support in this race – I look forward to continuing my work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in Howard County!

The anticipated Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade flies in the face of 50 years of settled law and would take away the freedoms of millions people who seek abortions and reproductive health care.
We must fight this harmful decision with every ounce of our individual and collective energy. And as Democrats, we must commit to electing pro-choice candidates at every level of government in 2022 and beyond.
Donate to an Abortion Fund Right Now If you’re terrified about losing Roe v. Wade, it’s the best thing you can do.
