World Clubfoot Day was on June 3rd, honoring Dr. Ignacio Ponseti, the orthopedic physician who pioneered clubfoot treatment. Chelsey Floresca, a medical assistant at our Walterboro Family Care location, has two sons both born with clubfoot. To support the Floresca family, our staff wore World Clubfoot Day t-shirts in their honor.

Clubfoot is a congenital birth defect where shortened foot tendons cause inward turning and bone misalignment, leading to walking difficulties if untreated. Treatment involves physical therapy, bracing with the Ponseti method and casting to lengthen the tendons.
