I remember being a very young child, probably around 2 years old, being taken outside to a sheltered porch to watch an amazing light show and hear the uncommon symphony of a real thunderstorm! From that point forward I can't get enough of storms, of crickets, of owls, of cars, of singing, of crying...
Tonight on Uncommon Light, midnight to 2am CST on KOPN 89.5 FM , I'll be playing the first side of Yes' masterpiece: Tales from Topographic Oceans - The Revealing Science of God (Dance of The Dawn) - the Steven Wilson remix from vinyl. The remaining three sides will be played on the next three Thursdays, midnight to 2am CST. I'll also be playing other long cuts from Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Genesis and Brand X.
Can't stay awake til midnight? You can stream the show for up to two weeks from the show date! Just go to KOPN.org. Click on the Programs pull-down menu, click on Schedule, find Uncommon Light at the top of the Thursday column, click on it!

Ok friends, my computer is back and running as fast as lightning, thanks to my computer guru! The only problem is that the show I was working on at the end of January has to be re-done. No big deal. Look for it soon on a Mix Cloud near you! Thank you for your patience!!!
Yes' high-concept "And You and I" marked end of an era Jon Anderson remembers "And You and I," which became Yes' fourth consecutive Top 50 single after its release this week in 1972.
Due to technical difficulties that are apparently beyond my control, the next trance-mission of Uncommon Light will be delayed for an undetermined length of time. I'll update when I can. Thanks Mercury Retrograde!

Great review from The Philadelphia Inquirer!
King Crimson, still awesome after 46 years Giving over a portion of your set to a synchronized percussion piece performed with virtuosic precision by a trio of drummers is the sort of thing that drives King Crimson's detractors to hurl accusations of indulgence.
I just have to record the voice tracks then place them in the mix and the next trance-mission of Uncommon Light will be complete and ready for upload. Barring any unforeseen problems, it should be available in a couple of hours!
Working on an ambient trance-mission of Uncommon Light Online which should be online within the next day or so...inspired in part by my early morning summer commutes along the back roads of Boone County, MO. I'll start work on a prog rock trance-mission shortly after I post the ambient. Stay tuned!
Interesting!
Genesis reunion ON! It may only end up being a one off, but the BBC seems to have persuaded Genesis members to perform together for the first time since Peter Gabriel parted ways with Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, T...
More info about the upcoming Genesis documentary from Tony Banks' page.
Genesis and the BBC have been working together over the last few months on GENESIS: TOGETHER AND APART
A feature length documentary on one of the most successful bands in rock history. From its first beginnings as a band of songwriters in the late 1960s to its final incarnation as a rock giant in the 1990s – via full-blown theatrical progressive rock in the mid-1970s and the subtler jazzy pop of the early 1980s – Genesis could perplex and enrage the die-hards, whilst exciting and exhilarating the newer disciples.
Made with the full co-operation of Genesis, the film reunites all original members of the band together – Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford – for the first time since 1975.
The film recounts an extraordinary musical story, exploring the band’s songwriting as well as emotional highs and lows, alongside previously unseen archive material and rare performance footage across their entire career.
Transmission date to be confirmed.

A bit more of a delay in the uploading of the first show. I won't be able to get to it til later today. Been running Jenn's car around town to get it inspected, repaired and re-inspected.
Well, the first show is "in the can"! However, uploading it to Mixcloud is an issue. The internet is rather busy at this hour and a storm rolling through is creating problems with a good connection. I'll try again later this evening...STAY TUNED
Yay! I can't wait to here it!
