Soy Afric is a business and a ministry that is giving relief to East Africa during the famine that is ravaging the whole area. Soy Afric produces high-quality fortified meals for the very malnourished, especially children and the elderly. They have a sincere desire to make a difference. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have been asked to buy the raw tonage of materials they need to make the meals. They will produce the meals, package the meals, and help with distribution of the meals all over East Africa. They will put OGI’s logo and information along with the Plan of Salvation on every meal at no cost to our ministry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Purchasing the minimum tonage will cost $176,000. This church is beautifully located in the smoky mountains and the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pastor Sam Hayes and his wife and the church graciously hosted the meeting last year and are hosting it again this year. You will love this area! It is easy to allow difficult, daunting, and discouraging situations to overwhelm us and cause us to lose or decrease our faith in God. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's in those times that God wants us to remember His promises and commands. Joshua was in one of those times and God tells him exactly what he needs to hear to prosper. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As we look to this year, what has God commanded you to do? What difficult situation has He allowed to come in your life? What direction and instructions has He shown you that seem overwhelming? How do we follow through obeying God's commands for this year in our life? Notice a few things God tells Joshua to help him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲. "Be strong” This command is repeated 3 times by God to Joshua. It deals with physical strength and not fainting or quitting or giving up. God tells him though it looks hard and impossible, keep going and don't give up! Maybe God has commanded you to be a better soul winner, or read your Bible faithfully, or pray or give more; and you’ve gotten discouraged, quit or you're about to throw in the towel. God says, "Be strong!" Where He guides, He provides everything we need. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲. "And of a good courage” Courage means to have mental strength and determination. It speaks of making your mind up and not turning back. When God commands us, we need to make a mental determination that we are going to follow through with it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵. "Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed” These commands deal with our spirituality and belief in God. Fear is the anticipation of what might go wrong and dismay is the discouragement and disarray that comes from fear. God says to not let either in our life! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Remember that God is the one who gave us the commands. And when He asks something of us, He always provides everything we need to obey! L

The greatest foundation we can build our lives on is giving the Gospel to others. Kenya Mission Trip 2023 provided so many opportunities for us to do what God has commanded us to do, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.” - Mark 16:15 The trip was successful in: ✅ Hosting successful evangelistic rallies ✅ Training local National Pastors during a ISWDI ✅ Completing the building and dedication of the Kenya Ministry Center and Faith Baptist Church, where believers will meet for worship and Gospel training for years to come. The building was dedicated in honor of Dr. David Wood. ✅ Planting Lighthouse Baptist Church in Naivasha, Kenya ✅ Street Witnessing to many throughout the trip in an open market ✅ Experiencing a 3-day authentic African Safari Many, many souls were saved during this mission trip. Glory be to God! This is all a small part of fulfilling the dreams Dr. Wood had for Operation Go International in Africa. We can’t wait to continue to push his vision forwards. “But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God” ~ Psalms 40:17 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Psalmist must have marveled that God had him in mind! He was low, in need and weak. But, he realized that God was his helper and deliverer! That gave him courage to demand (in prayer) that God come to his aid without delay. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have all been there: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • Our spirits are low. • We feel that nothing we have can satisfy. • We have needs that cannot be met from any earthly source. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Two options lay before us: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We can indulge in self-pity ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ OR ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We can remember that God cares for us and call upon Him!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These are the times when we have no earthly help - we have to, and should, turn to God. At such times we can be thankful for the privilege of prayer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Think of it this way: Prayer is not fancy words – it is a lifeline that lays hold upon the promises of God. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes, God answers our prayers at once. At other times, for reasons unknown to us, the answer is delayed. When this happens, we must hold on by faith! Knowing that God will answer in a time and in a way that is best for us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ God has a wonderful plan for your life. The road to spiritual maturity includes climbing, struggling, difficulties, discipline and perseverance. God allows each one of these, the correct dose at the correct time, to develop within us a complete dependency upon Him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What a wonderful God we serve!
