This Bavarian style Hefeweizen is fermented using a yeast strain which produces aromas of banana, along with very subtle notes of vanilla and clove. A grain bill of 55% malted wheat and 45% malted barley makes for a light colored beer with a bready and mellow malt character.

When we opened in 1994 Flat Branch menus were printed on newsprint in a newspaper style. This example dates to spring 1995 and features our original logo.

Some opening items are still on our menu 30 years later: Chokes and Cheese, Green Chili Chicken Fingers, Hobgobbler, homemade Veggie Burger, Catfish and Chips and Stout Brownie Sundae. And of course our 1/2 pound Pub Burger and Flat Branch Burger.

Other items have long been gone. Who remembers the Won Ton RollUps, or the Onion Straws that used to tear up our fryers? How about the Chicken Fuente, or Turkey Steak Bearnaise? Our mouth is watering just thinking about it.

30 years ago, today Flat Branch Pub & Brewing opened for business.

What a wild ride it’s been! Millions of guests served with the help of thousands of employees. Dozens of awards for our beer and our restaurant. Lord knows how many pints poured in our bar. Our soon-to-be-released 30 Year Kolsch was our 3869th batch of beer, and today our brewers Mike and Adam are brewing number 3874, a Lemon Lavender Witbier.

And what memories! First dates, engagements, and marriages. Visits by national celebrities like Dawn Wells, Bob Costas, Wh**ey Herzog and Florence Henderson.

Late 2023 we ventured to Clermont, Kentucky to select a single barrel of Rye Whiskey for the 30th anniversary of Flat Branch. This ultra premium commemorative batch has been aged 9 years under the watchful eye of 7th generation master distiller Fred Noe. The natural sugars, complexities, and flavors are unique to this batch, found nowhere else. For sale by bottle or pour, 30 years strong in 2024!
