When someone we love dearly leaves their earthly home our response as Christians emerges out of our faith. We know God is the creator and giver of all life. We also believe that Christ redeems us from sin and death by his cross and resurrection, and that therefore death ushers us into fuller life. The homegoing service affirms and celebrates these realities of faith even in this difficult time. Let us come together to serve and celebrate God's grace and Christ's victory, as we place our loved one's life in God's loving arms. Brother Wayne has ushered many of us to our seats with a bottled water, bulletin, giving envelope and a great big warm smile. He is now rested from his labors and the deeds that follow with him. Delighted is the Lord to welcome His own back home.

GENEROSITY - November 2023 Prayer Guide
ANSWERED PRAYERS
Statistically, Christians give more generously by about 20% more than those of no faith.
Many believers in central Ohio are seeing themselves as gospel supporters, funding vital Kingdom work in our city, praise God!
SPECIFIC REQUESTS
Pray 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 over the Church of Columbus. Pray for believers to sow generously into the Kingdom as cheerful givers.
Pray for all churches, nonprofits and businesses in our city to experience the favor of the Lord and for all their needs to be abundantly met according to Philippians 4:19.
Pray for the poor and marginalized in central Ohio to be lifted out of poverty and into flourishing, productive lives.
Pray for gospel patrons to be raised up in our city to resource Kingdom endeavors throughout central Ohio.
Pray for unprecedented generosity in the body of Christ in our city.
Specific, measurable prayers for our city:
Pray for the percentage of Christians to increase faster than our general population.
Ask God for a dramatic decrease in all forms of violent crime in Columbus over the next two years.
Ask God for every single Columbus City School to have a church or Christian nonprofit partnership.

PRAISE and THANKSGIVING
Worship God meditating on Romans 8:32. List out ways God has lavished His generosity on you.
Quiet your heart before the Lord and meditate on Psalm 37:1-7.
Come into His Presence with thanksgiving. Share with others in your prayer group or with a trusted friend things you thank God for in your life.
CONFESSION and INTERCESSION
Invite God to speak to you about your stewardship of the finances He has entrusted to you. Confess anything that is out of alignment with Him. Ask God for two or three action items you can take to show your commitment to grow in faithful stewardship. Ask Him to place on your heart a church, organization or individual to bless in this season.
Pray for a culture of radical generosity in the body of Christ and for every need to be met according to God’s abundant provision.
PRAY ALOUD
Father God, we praise You for Your generous, gracious heart that ultimately gave the Highest, most precious gift of all: Your Son. Help us to cherish this costly, astounding gift of love. With Your Holy Spirit’s help, may we cultivate hearts of deep gratitude and generosity. Speak to us personally on how to be faithful stewards of all You’ve given us. We pray also that Your body would be marked collectively as people of radical generosity. May no one in the body be in need this Christmas. Open our eyes to how you are calling us to give and serve. May we do it all with cheerful hearts in full appreciation for all You have lavished on us. We ask all this in the beautiful, strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
