Proud of you .wang . Beautiful piece
Cinderella’s stepsisters for . I built these to be a quick backstage change between Act 1 and Act 2. Switch the bow for a feathered hat, add skirt and sleeves and she’s off to the ball. Bonus is my client has some pieces like the simple romantic tutu she can use for other roles.
How gorgeous is .ginevra in her Bridesmaid variation tutu! 💛💛💛😍
Wish I could have been there to see it. The amazing Pam Tanowitz choreographed piece at Lincoln Center for Earth day.
Making miles of bright, pinked trim for stepsister gown.
“I love the drama of a new hat” Phillip Block. While I wait for my fittings, I made the Cinderella steps some jaunty hats. Can’t wait to lean into some gaudy sisters dresses.
I love the opportunity to play with Victorian patterns. This one is for Cinderella’s stepmother for
Another gorgeous show with these amazing dancers and live musicians. .wang was in Fugue in Crimson by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber. Loved the other works as well. Kyle Abraham and Shen Wei.
Happy World 2/2 (tutu) day! Finally a little sun streaming through my window after a full month of clouds and rain. This is a work in progress. I’ve been going down the rabbit hole playing with ribbon, making trim and flowers to decorate this gold and pink tutu. For listeners of , this is my project on that channel. .
A little bit of sunshine on this gloomy day.
Podcast alert! I was a guest again on TutuArtist Studo and we talk about decorating tutu plates. I mention a tutu I made a little while back and the method to make it. . Link in bio.
It was a sad week for me. I had to say goodbye to my good buddy and shop supervisor Socks, AKA Mr. Fluffypants, Pesky Mc Pesterson, Mr. Boo. He was ever present with me while I worked and loved a cuddle on the couch. He was a special friend. 🐈⬛Miss you.
My heart is full. Watching beautiful new work at Juilliard’s “New Dances”. Olivia’s second year class did a strong and joyful piece called “I Dare You” by Hope Boykin. A celebration of possibility. The last piece by Omar Roman De Jesus, “Eroica” was absolutely mesmerizing.
New Mother’s gowns for . Can’t wait to see them tonight on stage. Made with silk dupioni in burgundy, jolite and tarragon. made some lovely matching capes as pictured with the green dress.
New Albrect Tunic for .lonjade of Good luck Jade!
Happy and Happy Nutcracker. Here is a bright Dewdrop for . This was a remake of an old tutu. The net was old and droopy, the boning in the bodice was worn and it had seen better days. I thought the pretty plate was worth saving so I gave it a good clean and press. In place of the pink and white old tutu, I made a new tutu to match the vibrant colors of the plate and reflected the ombré look in the bodice. I think it’s nice litttle glow up!
Had a break to visit Liv in NYC and see her dance in Choreographers and Composers.

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m looking forward to spending the day with my girl Liv here in NYC. We enjoyed watching her perform a beautiful piece with her 1st year class. She also presented a piece in Choreographic honors. The first years have grown so much since we were here last. They have worked hard and it shows. Thank you to all the family and friends that came out to support her. 😘 .wang
Happy ! This is not a tutu but the beginning of a set of mother’s dresses. It’s been fun to learn some new trim techniques and find inspiration in the Victorian period. I did some small modifications of the 1860 Ballgown Bodice to make it work for ballet company use. I love this tarragon silk dupioni from . I love the two tones coming together. All of the ballgowns will be their amazing silk. Glad to be working with stay tuned to see how the skirt turns out.
