Kamala Harris’ vision for the future is one we can all get behind: a future where every person has affordable health care; where every worker is paid fairly; and where every senior can retire with dignity. That’s why AFSCME members are mobilizing to elect Harris this November. Together, we can build on the legacy of this admin to create good union jobs, grow the labor movement and make our economy work for all of us. Find out more & ways to get involved on our new website 👉 respectpublicworkers.org!

Project 2025 and Unions Project 2025 and Unions Project 2025 is the 920-page document by Donald Trump and his allies that spells out what they plan to do during a Trump second term.We broke it down for you: How would this agenda affect union members and working families?Project 2025 includes proposals to:Make it easier for...
We owe President Biden a huge debt of gratitude. Let’s say thanks for everything he has done during his presidency to uplift working people. From the moment he took the oath of office, he fought for us – because our values are his values.
Rise and shine, here is your union fact of the day. It pays to be in a union.
When we're united in love, we're united in strength. Happy Pride Month!
The Central Ohio Labor Council, AFL-CIO has decided to rescind its 2023 endorsement of Brandon Simmons and urge him to resign from his position as a Columbus City School Board Member.
The reasons behind these decisions are listed in the letter below. We no longer have confidence in Brandon Simmons’s ability to fulfill his duties effectively.
Congratulations to AFSCME Ohio Council 8's newest cultural workers union Holden Forests and Gardens Workers United!
Today, staff at Kaleidoscope Youth Center announced that they are forming their union with OFT / AFT - American Federation of Teachers! The workers submitted signed union cards from 100% [not a typo!] of union-eligible staff. They are asking KYC's leadership to voluntarily recognize their union and start working together to make improvements for KYC staff and the young Ohioans they serve.
Read the statement from the Kaleidoscope Workers Union Organizing Committee:
"We are hopeful that organizational leadership will voluntarily recognize Kaleidoscope Workers Union. One-hundred percent of eligible employees have signed collective bargaining authorization cards, which is a testament to our commitment to the work we do every day.
We are looking forward to negotiating for improved communication, fulfillment and improvement of workers’ benefits and the increased accessibility of all Kaleidoscope Youth Center programs and facilities.
Guaranteeing that our own needs are met is crucial to preventing burnout, maintaining the high-quality services we provide to KYC youth and ensuring the longevity of our organization."
Congratulations to AFSCME Ohio Council 8 local 2191 on the signage of the 2023 CBA. Huge shoutout to the negotiations committee and all of the members for their hard work.
