In November 2021, Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin proudly introduced Columbus Promise. This three-year pilot program would offer CCS students tuition-free access to Columbus State Community College (CSCC). In 2024, Hardin stood in the CSCC Workforce and Development Center, promising the program would extend beyond those three years.

Keynote speaker Misty Copeland, the first African American female principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, gracefully inspired teachers before leaping into their Summer Experience Curriculum. As a recent graduate from Northland High School, Docille Micomyiza has overcome the odds to establish himself in the real estate business while working towards earning his degree in higher education from Columbus State.

He hopes to use his degree to further his future in real estate. We are proud of you, Docille!
