It’s open! The new 2024-25 FAFSA opened on December 31, 2023—nearly three months after its previous availability date. If your child will be in college for the 2024-25 school year, you must complete the FAFSA to be considered for federal financial aid.

This is a soft launch for the new form, which means the form may be unavailable during periods of maintenance and testing. The information obtained on the FAFSA will be sent to colleges by the end of January, which will significantly reduces the window colleges will have to make decisions about financial aid. Completing the FAFSA as early as possible may reduce some of the expected delays. For more information, please visit the official website at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

Meeting the early action application deadline is often required to be considered for college-specific scholarships! Be sure to check the website(s) of your intended college(s) to confirm the deadline to submit your scores. Also, review each college’s “test optional” policy for admission and scholarships.
