Quick recap on yesterday's test session. We had a 96% pass rate, which is only possible because our skaters are well prepared for their tests. Congratulations to Ian and Sophia for earning gold medals for passing their senior level tests.

Kathy Slack Troy Summer Competition 2024

Congratulations to Sophia Mackessy, today she earned Kathy Fellers Slack Memorial Trophy for highest combined score for Intermediate Women at the Troy Summer Competition. Great job, Sophia!

Week 1 of summer skating at OSU for Columbus FSC was a success! Reminder, through June 2-June 30 club ice is offered Monday 6-7:30pm and Sunday 8:00am-12:30pm. There is no club ice Monday, June 10 and Sunday, June 23. Hope to see everyone out on the ice soon!

Hello all! Make sure to check the CFSC website for updates about Summer Enrichment and Summer Contract Ice. We will be offering ice on Sunday mornings from 8am-12:30pm, Enrichment from 12:30-1pm and Monday evenings from 6-7:30pm. There will be no ice on Monday, June 10 and Sunday, June 23rd.

Great Spring Exhibition yesterday to close out the season!

The CFSC Adult Skating Community just keeps growing! We have many congratulatory words for every skater. Skating as an Adult and having a job and life responsibilities poses unique challenges and every skater competing at Adult Nationals this week has overcome life things in order to do what they love.
There will be many more pictures to come but let’s begin with our two debuting Masters Jr Sr Ladies. Yes! Abby Schmitt and Rosie Canter’s first Adult Nationals bringing home a Second place and a Fourth place!!
Be sure to congratulate these two adults when you see them! They skated beautifully!!!

New to the Columbus area and having returned to the ice after some years off, Adult Dina Frigo in only her second competition since returning to skating just months ago, brings home a Silver medal after having a beautiful skate in Adult Gold Women’s II. Like many of our adult skaters, Dina works full time and volunteers for rescuing injured wildlife and fits in her training on and off the ice as well. Be sure to congratulate Dina when you see her! Congratulations Dina on a beautifully skated program! We are proud of you!

Congratulations to Marla Hoeft for taking the Silver medal in her category of Silver Women IV.

In between events we skate in and our lives..our CFSC Adult Figure skaters support one another and bring lots of laughter to figure skating. Here are a couple of our competitors Cindy Flaherty and Kristine Neinast enjoying the events and keeping warm rinkside.

Olga Staker proudly on the podium at Adult Nationals in Cleveland last week taking Bronze for her very fun Showcase program “I Can’t Drive 55”.

Often our adult skaters compete and practice and progress without much fanfare so now is as good a time as any to start giving shout outs to our Adult skaters and perhaps encourage other adults to learn to skate.
Olga loves competing because she loves the support that adults give and that she loves to give. She has continued her skating through being wife and mother and full time employee she finds time to practice, even if it’s an early Saturday or Sunday morning.
She also maintains her off ice conditioning through Zumba classes so she can skate through a program.
Be sure to congratulate Olga if you see her and we give her a Congrats for a skate well done!!

100% pass rate at yesterday's test session. 50 for 50!!! Everyone was really well prepared, and we had four successful gold skating skills tests.

Many thanks to Kristine Neinast, Yulia and Katerina Gazeeva, and Amy and Ella Puckett for playing music for the test session. All were playing music for the first time, and they did a great job!
