This solid oak bar/cabinet was made in Belgium. Probably early 20th century. The carvings and detailed panels are unmatched into today’s furniture world.
A reminder for this Saturday’s open house from noon-5pm, regarding access to our new digs at 416 Midgard Rd., Clintonville. There are many steps in the front of the house, which is on a hill. The new space is above our garage and an additional steep 15 steps. There are two parking spaces reserved in the rear for those who need it. Just message me to reserve a spot or for any other questions: 614 578 1539.

Many of you might remember the Columbus photographer James Valentine estate Mary Catherine’s purchased 7 or 8 years ago. So many fabulous paintings, photos, books, unusual artifacts. I saved many of Valentine’s photos-some were his work, but he also collected-and am now beginning to sort them. Posting some of my favorite of the children’s photos. Hope to offer Valentine’s work during our Open House Dec. 9,10. Full details tomorrow night!
Greetings! Mary Catherine’s new space remains a work in progress, but we are ready for a holiday visit! We will have an open house Saturday and Sunday December 9th and 10th., 1-5pm, so please stop by if you are in the Clintonville area! More details next week! As a reminder, this is not an open shop, but by appointment and special events.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Greetings! As promised, photos of our new digs, as we transition from 44 years of shop keeping in the Short North to a second floor by appointment only space in Clintonville. Hope to be on-line with a new website and fresh merchandise by the holidays. We are also selling rare smalls on eBay, starting this week with a 1962 comic book: Journey Into Mystery #85, first appearance of the villain Loki! Follow seller Marycatherinesantiques on eBay!
The shop has been closed permanently for a week now, but Ross from the 1126 Restaurant caught me on a final window wash and snagged the aloe plant in an art glass vase that was sitting in the window! Literally the only thing left in the store! We were both tickled, as he claimed absolute last sale. Thank you, Ross!
So fitting! First and last visitors! My friend Jeff and I started in the antique business together in the late 1970s ( we both lament:”we’re the old timers now!”😂)and these two lovely young ladies were our final customers before locking the door forever this evening. What a fun filled but poignant month. So many of you took time out of your busy days to visit and purchase and reminisce about the old days. Truly remarkable, memorable, and forever appreciative of it all.
❤️🤸♀️❤️🤸♀️

Well, going out in style our 2nd to last day of open shop: the Navarro boys descended on the shop for a large portion of the afternoon (well behaved, precocious-❤️) and Logan Meyer’s kids behind the wheel of our loaned out van! 😂😉 Pretty fun stuff.
Open Thursday 1-6pm.
7th Son’s new mural on north side of building. ❤️❤️🤸♀️🤸♀️
Wednesday and Thursday of this week are our last two retail days with open hours! Despite the fact that the shop is about 90% empty, great buys remain and we actually found some fresh merchandise buried in the warehouse! Like the neon “Open” sign.

Open 1-6pm Wed., Thurs August 30, 31st. As Fred would say, we’re dealin’!
