It was June 19, 1865, when approximately 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, and announced the more than 250,000 enslaved African Americans were free by executive decree. This day was etched in history and is known as "Juneteenth," (June nineteenth) -- the day to commemorate the end of slavery.

1st Infusion day for our patient to get her chemotherapy to fight the nasty word “cancer.” So many emotions go along with being diagnosed with cancer and how quickly you are scheduled with an overwhelming amount of procedures that lead up to this first day. This patient has decided to save her hair by doing Cold Cap Therapy. We try to make our patients as comfortable as they can be and the Cold Cap Therapy for sure helps with one aspect….a total distraction from the Chemotherapy. A capping partner is changing these cold caps every 25 minutes!!! There is never a dull moment that’s for sure! An amazing opportunity that so many patients are thankful for!

This lovely lady stopped in the Boutique today to thank us for her experience in Cold Cap Therapy! She finished like a champion! 💓
