Order any pies or buns you want for Father's Fay weekend soon! We will be closing at 11 on this Friday for a doctor appointment so please call early! I will be baking ( if I can find it) an rhubarb pie for my Dad.

We have banana bread today and I tried something new. It is made by browning butter then caramelizing the bananas. No nuts or cinnamon, it is very bananaish. We also have ice creams!

Sonker is a new one for me but I will happily bake the rest if you order ahead. Heck. I'll try a sonker too!

I am happy to say we will be opening tomorrow! We may not have a full menu but we will have enough sweet treats to make your day better. Thank you very much for all the positive thoughts while I was gone, they really help. And it is gone! No more feeding tube. I am not gaining weight like I want, but I have not lost any either.First week in May we will be back.I am already bored.

This is a good news /bad news post. We are closed Easter Sunday. April 2nd I get my throat balloon stretched again so I can hopefully enjoy eating more. The feeding tube will also be removed if everything looks healthy. That is the good news. The bad news is I have to close down again for a month . I can't lift anything heavier than 8 pounds. My mixing bowl weighs more than that! If the feeding tube is not removed we will be open on Wednesday but that means something is wrong. Wish me luck! All prayers, healthy thoughts and positive thinking are greatly appreciated.

Easter is early this year, March 31. Order special Easter breads,rolls,pies,and cakes before Thursday . We will be closed Easter Sunday.We will have hot cross buns starting today and Easter cookies tomorrow. This weekend we are trying out soft sugar cookies with buttercream icing, they are really tasty.

We have shamrock cookies for St. Patrick's Day and Easter cookies coming soon. Easter is early this year so order pies, desserts, and rolls early too. Also if you want to be sure of a loaf of soda bread order that as well. We will have it but I never know what will happen once I open the door. Snickerdoodles are in the case as well. What a fun word to say!

Valentine cookies are filling the case! We have gingerbread, sugar, shortbread, Linzer, iced sugar with sayings, cream cheese with raspberry,2cherry and peanut butter kisses, almond spritz,and 3 kinds of wedding cookies. We can personalize the iced sugar cookies if we have 3 days notice.

Christmas cookies are just a memory but we have Valentine cookies! We even have lemon bars because not all relationships have sweet endings. Cherry and peanut butter kiss cookies , wedding cookies are here and date cookies coming soon.

Stop in tomorrow, Saturday, for sourdough. We can slice it for you. Leftover Christmas cookies are in the 2 $ bags of random flavors, some do contain peanut butter. Killer rabbits and holy hand grenades are back!

Good news! I am cancer free! I will have to get regular scans and scopes to be sure it does not return but for now, celebrate! We are not making doughnuts as I figure the smoke would be a bad idea but come in for cookies or a pastry. Bred will be back next week.

We are not open for Small Business Saturday but will reopen with a limited menu on Wednesday the 29th.
Hours will be Wed through Sat 7-3 and Sun 7-1.
I will have to close for 2 weeks sometime in the future when I can eat again and the feeding tube comes out but that is down the road a while. Thank yo so much for all the encouragement and kind words of support , they definitely helped keep my spirits up!

Another biopsy on the 31st. Waiting on results for another 2 weeks. If I do not have the energy to open with a full line of baked goodies and doughnuts I will probably do just Christmas cookies and maybe bread.until I get my strength and energy back to where it was, I hate to think of a holiday without all my cookies!

Still no definite answer. I have another biopsy on October 31 to find out what is going on. The waiting is driving me nuts!

I had a PET scan done to check on my progress,Unfortunately,the PET scan came back showing something.,either scar tissue or residual cancer. I have a biopsy on the 18th to find out which. All good vibes, prayers,healthy thoughts ,and whatever else works for you are much appreciated. A huge thank you to everyone for the good wishes and Gofundme donations. It helps a lot!

As advertised on our door, here is an update. I have no voice so we will not be opening up again until at least mid August or the start of September. As soon as I have a voice and the energy I will be baking, I am not ready to throw in my apron just yet! Thank you for all the encouraging words they mean a lot to me .The gofundme donations, are allowing me to be closed and not worry too much about how to keep going.

I was warned the first two weeks after chemo and radiation ended would be the worst due to the cumulative effect and that is no joke.I have no voice, little appetite or energy. Next week things should start improving. I hope! Thanks for all the encouraging words, they mean a lot even if I have not updated, I was hoping for better news to share.

Dur to circumstances beyond my control, we will be closed until at least July. I lost more than my limit of weight and now have a feeding tube, so I cannot lift more than 8 pounds. All the ingredients come in containers that weigh more! Sorry about the short notice but such has been my recent life. Thank you thank you all for being such great customers! I will miss you but hope to be back as soon as I can talk, lift stuff, and eat normally.

We will be closing at 11:30 May 10 so Micki can celebrate her birthday. Hope she has a splendid time! Yes it said the wrong date but it is really today!

In the near future things will be quite unsettled at the bakery. I have stage 2 throat cancer and while it is treatable I do not know how much baking can be done. So, be patient and forgive us if special orders are limited. Summer hours may start early or we might open later. After almost 22 years here I am not sure I am ready to retire from baking.

Due to the sad catching of COVID by Micki, we will be closing at 11:30 today. We wish her a speedy recovery!
