We caught up with Elite runner Pegah and asked her what her favorite part of the AEP Ohio Columbus 10K course is:
“My favorite part of the race is shortly after mile 1, crossing the bridge over the Scioto on W. Rich Street. There’s something special about that bridge and it shows my favorite view of the city. I also like to think the Scioto deer statue gives good luck when I need it most.”

We asked elite runner Sam Adams about his race morning routine. Sam said “I wake up, eat a breakfast of oatmeal, bananas, and a peanut butter bagel, put on my race uniform which I laid out the night before, travel to the event, warm up, get to the start line, try to stay calm while the clock is counting down, then kill it at the race.
Confidence is key, we dig it! Check out all of Sam’s responses and find out more about his racing in our newest blog post. The link is in our bio!
Happy Friday! here with this weekend’s IG takeover! I have participated in the AEP Ohio Columbus 10K for the last five years, both in person and virtually so I’m thrilled for this opportunity to get the word out about how amazing this race is. 🤩 Some facts about me:
🏃♀️ I hated running when I was younger and had really bad asthma. It was until I graduated college that I found how much running actually helps!
👟 860s sre my go-to running shoes (& I’ve tried a lot!)
🏅 I ran my first full marathon last year and that was something. 😅
🏡 I was born and raised here in Columbus and there is nothing more inspiring to me than running downtown.
💻 I work in marketing now after beginning my career as a broadcast journalist.
🎧 I’m always looking for music and podcast recs to listen to while I’m out.
🐶 My dog Nick is finally old enough to take up running himself, so getting him training will become a personal passion project of mine this summer.
Excited for you to join me this weekend here on the Columbus 10K account! If you’re already inspired, sign up for this year’s race on Sunday, June 2 (link in bio) using my code, mollyfox10k5.

We caught up with CRC Elite runner Zach Zimmerman and asked him about his favorite 10k workout. Zach said, “Mile repeats are probably the best test of fitness for the 10k I think. It allows you to be experimental with paces and maybe give yourself some confidence with running a faster pace while also letting the body recover briefly enough.”
With under 40 days to race day, it’s getting to be time for those tune-up workouts! Check out all of Zach’s responses and find out more about his racing in our newest blog post. The link is in our bio!
We recently caught up with CRC Elite Masters runner Paige Biglin. When asked why she chose the AEP Ohio Columbus 10K, she replied, “I have run the Columbus 10K ten or so times. It’s a perfect big competitive race with a comfortable hometown feel.
We’ll keep striving to be all of that and more! Check out all of Paige’s responses and find out what she does to get ready for her races in our newest blog post. The link is in our bio!
Instagram Takeover!!
What is going on, This is taking control for the next couple days.
So let me clear my throat, and I’ll give you a brief intro:
I moved up to Columbus in 2015 and absolutely fell in love with this city, more importantly, with the whole running community in this city.
I work at the American Chemical Society (ACS), I really enjoy working in the science environment.
I have ran since 2008, ran 8 marathons, 4 AEP Ohio Columbus 10k’s (3 on location, 1 virtual), and many other runs. In 2018 I was able to run at least a 5k a day for that year..
I am a survivor of 2 strokes, last year (2023) I celebrated my 10th anniversary since my last stroke, and let me tell you, last year’s AEP Ohio Columbus 10k, was a PARTY!!
We will talk more as the weekend continues….
We recently caught up with Elite Masters runner Carrie Birth-Davis. When asked about her favorite part of the Columbus 10K course, she echoed what is probably a pretty common reply among us all... “is it ok to say the finish line?”
Absolutely, Carrie! Check out all of Carrie’s responses and find out what she does to get ready for her races in our newest blog post. The link is in our bio!
