WRITING BIG BOOKS - My students love writing class big books about a variety of topics. They create a slide of pictures and one of information. We glue the 2 pages onto a 12 x 18 sheet of colored construction paper and bind it into a book. Kids often choose to read these books!
Rubber Duck Rescue STEM Challenge! Students had to use the fewest materials to rescue 20 rubber ducks off the surface of the table. Some groups used just one cup and one index card!

Pool Noodle Towers - These are a great early STEM challenge!
Grab a pool noodle for each table, cut it up randomly with straight and diagonal cuts. Teams have to work together to make the tallest free-standing tower.

Pi Day STEM Challenge! Can you make paper circles with the given diameters? This one requires some teamwork!!!
Have you ever made Paper Rockets??? These are so easy to make and so fun to launch! Just grab and cut pvc pipes, one per student, and a sheet of copy paper and 2 index cards per rocket! You will also need some clear tape. We use stomp launchers to send ours up in the air!
STEM Challenge - Building the Tallest Free-standing Paper Snowman! This is actually tougher than it looks. Just grab some copy paper, a few strips of tape, and some accent colors to add details.
Today (January 28th) is National Kazoo Day! Make your own kazoo from a cardboard tube, wax paper, and some rubber bands. Be sure to make a least one hole in the side of the tube.
