Hi everybody,
There is no easy way to say this so I will just put it out into the universe... The shop will be closing its doors forever at the end of December. After a lot of soul searching and candid conversations with my family we have come to the decision that it is time to step away from the shop and take on new challenges in another industry.
There were several factors that went into this decision but the primary ones were the changing marketplace, the need for stability and my children's life goals being different from comic retail. The path towards my family's best life lies elsewhere. They have been so patient as I have chased my dream and it is now then time for me to change lanes and make sure that they achieve theirs. A golden opportunity has been presented to me to explore one of my other passions and pivot into the next phase of my life.
Our last week receiving DC / Image comics will be December 6th with December 13th being the final week for Marvel. Our last day of being open for sales will be on December 23rd. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have been a part of your lives for the last 30 years. I feel like I am letting you all down. You all are so much more than just valued guests. I would describe you as friends and some as close family. Someone far wiser than I am once told me that in our line of business we don't go to work. We go to place where hundreds of our friends and fellow comic lovers visit us every week and as a bonus we get a paycheck for hanging out with them. There are amazing stores in Columbus that I know will be able to make you feel as loved and as at home as you were at Comic Town.
I apologize for needing to do this. I also cannot thank you enough for the memories and life that I have been gifted as a result of you being a part of it. We will be running deep discount sales leading up to our last day of business, December 23rd. Look for information about these clear out deals to be posted on our social media and website this week.
