I love our community! So yesterday at 2:00 pm I sent out a request asking to help raise enough money to purchase a ebike for a homeless customer, Joshua whom had previously had his bike stolen and had been living in a tent. Joshua has a full time job cleaning a government building. Well, by 2:05 the calls started coming in and our great customers stepped up in a way I had no idea could happen. Call after call came in and by 2:45 we had raised the $700 for a new bike, $68.38 for shipping, a new Blackburn light set, and a great ABUS lock! The calls have continued to come in non-stop with great customers wanting to continue to help Joshua past the initial purchase of his ebike. Some people wanted to help him get our of his tent and into an apartment so we started taking names however in talking to Joshua, he let us know he was finally able to get an apartment last week and doesn't need any additional assistance right now. I was able to reach out to Joshua yesterday afternoon and asked him to stop by after he got out of work. He asked if we had any luck or blessings with the email and we told him yes, but to come in and we would talk about it. Once he arrived, we gave him a card a customer actually gave him with some money in it. After he opened it and saw the $20's he said..."Now I have some money to get some food!" excitedly. He was so happy and he always says if he wins the lotto that he will help us out too! We still hadn't told him he got the bike and it was ordered so we took a video of it playing it off that we had raised some money to get him the lights and a lock. You can see at the end he takes a sigh and says "God is good". Thanks to all of you that wanted to help out Joshua. He really does appreciate it and so do we. Happy Thanksgiving! John(ny)
