A huge thank-you to Crossroads Church for donating Thanksgiving meal boxes for our recently-housed clients! Each box contains the ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal, including canned fruits and vegetables, cranberry sauce, potatoes, a gift card to buy the main protein, and a dessert mix! Crossroads collected over 250 boxes to distribute to agencies around central Ohio. This will make Thanksgiving special for so many people!

Faith Mission of Fairfield County honored our veteran program staff and residents by providing a special lunch as a small token of our appreciation for their service to our country.
Thanks to the Singing Buckeyes Chorus for coming out on Veteran's Day to provide and serve subs, chips and drinks. They also sang patriotic tunes, which was much appreciated by our veterans!
Thank you to Bob Evans Grocery for holding a special Veterans’ Day breakfast for all our veterans in shelter! The volunteers set up our dining room and served a meal of pancakes, bacon, fruit, coffee and orange juice. They also gave each veteran a hand-written thank-you card. What a great way show appreciation for those who have served!

Thank you to the First Church of God, Columbus Ohio men’s group for donating winter coats and accessories and serving dinner! They provided a meal of chicken, rice, gravy, mixed vegetables and applesauce. The residents loved their meal!
A big thank-you to Yarger Wealth Strategies for holding a winter clothing drive for our residents! Between their staff and clients, they were able to collect over 70 coats, as well as hats, scarves, gloves, sweatshirts, and thermal socks. This is such a great help, and just in time for us to stock up for the start of winter. Thank you, Yarger!
The Lancaster sober living ladies hosted trick or treat and some of the men from sober living joined in the fun! There was homemade potato soup and plenty of candy for the kiddos!
Thanks to this St Paul Lutheran Church group for volunteering in the kitchen! They provided a hamburger dinner with sides, which is always a favorite!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and LSS Faith Mission of Fairfield County staff wore purple to support efforts to end domestic violence, including LSS' own CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence program!
Shout-out to a group from Bath & Body Works for volunteering in our Donation Center! They accomplished a lot, from sorting and folding clothes to setting up a winter accessories section to creating Halloween treat bags for our residents. Thank you to all who helped! 🎃👻

Thanks to the LSS Board of Directors for serving a meal! Although they give of their time through board governance, it's always great when they come out and get to serve clients directly!
When people come to our shelter, they don’t only receive a bed and a meal. In addition to three hot meals a day, residents meet with case managers to help them overcome their barriers to permanent housing. We also have a health center, employment resource center and other services designed to help people get back on their feet and stay there!
Diana is a resident of our Faith Mission of Fairfield County shelter. When entering shelter, she shared the previous day was her birthday and it had been a terrible day left alone on the streets. But once at our shelter, she was all smiles playing her favorite game, bingo. It brought back memories of playing with her mom growing up. She told staff how blessed she was to have our help. She said, “I want the world to know that if you have lost faith and hope to come here and you will find it again.”
We were recently asked to share about the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program with Columbus City Council, which is a federal program we administer with the goal of helping people who qualify and are homeless. Right now, 21 clients are receiving case management with the goal of becoming self-sufficient
For their house meeting activity, residents of our women's sober living program in Lancaster chose to paint Highland cows. It was so much fun!

Recently Faith Mission of Fairfield County staff completed our annual CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training, which is designed to help professionals in any setting during a range of crisis behaviors. Everyone was working hard through lunch and engaging in the training to learn how to de-escalate a crisis with our clients!
For their annual ‘Being the Difference Day’, employees at Independent Bank selected Faith Mission to receive donations. After learning about our top donation needs, they collected men’s clothing items and hygiene products, then dropped them off along with a check for $1,500! Thank you so much to all who took part in this drive!
A big thanks to the Capital University football team for serving lunch to our residents! The team did a great job serving and helping with meal prep.
For Columbus State Community College's day of service, one group of students and staff split up between the Faith Mission kitchen and donation center. They had a great turnout and got a lot done in just two hours. Thank you to all who participated!
