Today we said goodbye to Captain Tharonza Elmonus at The Salvation Army Hilltop Corps. Thank you Captain for serving with distinction, loving your people well, and showing them Jesus. We will be cheering you on as you serve the Lord in Buffalo.
Our mobile relief unit has distributed hundreds of bottles of cold water this week throughout Columbus, in neighborhoods, and in area parks. Our seniors have also received relief aid. A heat advisory remains in effect throughout central Ohio until 8 p.m. Saturday. We ask that everyone check on people in need who may not be able to easily seek relief from the heat and call 9-1-1 if you suspect their health may be at risk.
Today marks a pivotal moment in history. As we commemorate the emancipation of African Americans who were enslaved in the United States, we honor the resilience of those who continue to fight for freedom and equality today.
Celebrating the amazing fathers who inspire us every day. Happy Father’s Day! ❤️
Today, we celebrate more than just the sweet treat itself. During World War I, volunteers from The Salvation Army, also known as the “Donut Lassies,” provided delicious donuts to soldiers on the front lines. Let’s use this day to appreciate the impact of small gestures of kindness and maybe get a little pastry, too. Happy National Donut Day🍩
