When Wil had died, I called him our city's Nerd Laureate.
Sadly, Cleveland has lost its Nerd Laureate this week, Carl Taliaferro.
They didn't get much nerdier than Carl. I worked with him at Big Fun from 2000 to 2010. He was a good mentor & a great friend.
From one Trekkie to another, to quote Captain Kirk's eulogy for Spock: "Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most human."

Short North Window Display Contest Winner
With a response of over 300 votes, we're excited to announce Big Fun Columbus as the winner of the 2023 Window Display Contest, securing the $500 prize. Kudos to Native Cold Pressed for securing 2nd place, and to Orange Blossom Tattoo for claiming 3rd place. We encourage everyone to explore the district and admire the elaborate designs displayed by all participants this year. Your commitment to creativity and spreading festivity in our community is appreciated, and we eagerly anticipate seeing your displays in the next holiday season!

One of our favorite galleries is closing, The Vanderelli Room. If y'all haven't been to AJ's, you're running out of time. We've done two Big Fun Earth Day Art Shows there & had plans to do more. Our fair city is less special without The Vanderelli Room.
