Gemco Coins, Jewelry and Pawn was founded in 1988 primarily as a coin, paper money, precious metals and jewelry retailer and wholesaler. Hollow point ammunition is designed to expand upon impact, transferring as much as 95% of its energy into a target and causing more damage than other types of ammunition:
Deforms: The hollow tip deforms, or "mushrooms", when it hits a target, slowing the bullet and increasing its surface area. This creates a wider wound channel and allows the bullet to transfer more kinetic energy into the target.
Causes more damage: The increased surface area causes more extensive tissue damage along the wound path, which can help incapacitate a target more quickly.
Less likely to ricochet: Hollow point ammunition ricochets less than other types of ammunition.
