John was a founding father of the Short North neighborhood and a pillar of the community for decades. He will be greatly missed. His bar was one of the biggest inspirations that helped make the James a building block of 4th Street and Italian Village. 💓 RIP

We will gather at the Gazebo in Goodale Park to honor and share our favorite memories of John this Sunday, July 14, at 3:30 PM after Music In The Park. This will be an open format and we ask that you limit your time to two minutes so that we may accommodate all who wish to speak.

Please note that parking near the Gazebo may be difficult. A convenient parking garage is located near the Gazebo on W. Russell Street between Park Street and High Street. Parking is also available in Goodale Park, and on Goodale Street, High Street, Pearl Alley, etc. Please leave parking on Park Street available for those with mobility issues.

This will be a casual event. Dress appropriately, bring water, and stay hydrated.

Condolences may be sent to the Tavern, but we encourage you to donate. John was a proponent of supporting the Short North, providing affordable living, and he loved animals.
