Douglas Buckley started Black Kahawa Coffee when he returned to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio in 2019. Buckley spent eleven years in the East African country of Tanzania, where he co-founded a small coffee roasting company that taught women the craft of hand-roasting.

Today, Buckley is passionate about roasting and sharing East African coffee with enthusiasts in Central Ohio and beyond. Huntington is proud to have such an impactful business as part of the Lift Local program.
