At our last meeting, we heard from Zach Friedman - Innovation Strategist at inVentiv Health. Zach taught us how to reverse engineer processes in order to generate better ideas! He also encouraged us to experience new things to broaden our horizons and reshape what we think is possible. Last Tuesday at our kickoff meeting, we heard from Robert Nicholson, who has helped start dozens of companies. Rob broke down the concept of entrepreneurship for us and encouraged us all to seek solutions to daily problems! Tuesday night we traveled to DOmedia and heard from Falon Donohue, CEO of VentureOhio! We discussed the importance of Columbus as an emerging smart city, as well as our increased creation of entrepreneurial ecosystems. Lots of off-campus meetings to come this semester!

Two weeks ago, we heard from Shawn Cunix of the Toy Barn! Shawn taught us that investing in yourself is the key to discovering where you want to go in life. He reminded us to stay ambitious, and that providing real value to employees and customers leads to success in any business. Shawn also encouraged us to inspire happiness in people every day. Before becoming the Director of Engineering at Drive Capital, Zach co-founded and sold LaunchGram, was a member of the BBC, and attended The Ohio State University. On Tuesday we heard from David Grzelak and Alexis Yamokoski of The Shipyard Crew! The Shipyard is a Columbus marketing Agency that uses data to inspire creativity. David is the Chief Strategy Officer and Alexis is the EVP of Strategy at the agency. Alexis shared with us why Columbus is such a great place to be as an entrepreneur, check it out:
It was great hearing from former BBC President Jay Clouse & Seth A Miller, founder of Rapchat, on Tuesday! Both entrepreneurs agreed that passion and technical knowledge are two of the most important traits that startups look for when hiring. Check out the recap!
We had a pleasure hosting Fisher Alumnus Adam Malone last night! Malone shared knowledge he's gained from facilitating over $1B in media transactions over the last 7.5 years at DOmedia. He emphasized the length of the entrepreneurial journey as well as what it takes to be a true hustler. Check out the video!
