Last Thursday, we had our annual Idea Pitch Competition. Here are the results!

Congratulations to Suvan Dommeti and Frank Li on winning 1ST PLACE and the grand prize of $1000 for their idea, Lockd!

In 2ND PLACE winning a total of $500 was Henry Guerrera and Khaled Muhanna for their idea, MealMate!

In 3RD PLACE winning a total of $100 is Avijit Kumar and Nic Daneman for their idea, Patt!

Hey everyone! We're looking for a roommate for the Business Builders house! Here are the details:

Lease: August '22-23 for 1 bedroom. Rent is $640
House: It is a recently renovated, 6 bedroom, 4 bathroom house.
Roommates: There are 5 roommates (6 total, including you). There's 1 girl and 4 guys.

Extras: Room comes with a $200 mattress for free. There is a $640 security deposit. Gas is like $10-15, Internet is $15ish, electric is like $20, and water is $30 every months.
The location is by Cazuelas on North campus. It's a 5 min walk to Little Bar and Threes. It's a close walk to campus. At the house, there is street parking and parking behind the house.

Terry Green moved to Columbus as a pre-teen to live with his mother. He found himself living on the streets after she went to jail. “At the age of 15 I was a homeless youth and was disconnected from my father and that’s when the challenges in terms of selling drugs and being a part of drug trafficking and drug possession,” Green said. Starting in 2009, Green spent about four years in jail. When he was released, he started his non-profit organization “Think. Make. Live. Youth”. “Providing innovative leadership programs, workforce development opportunities, career readiness and social justice [to the youth],” Green said

Tonight we had a product workshop where business builders designed “pet cat/catfish scratchers” to satisfy judges requirements! Understanding your target customer and building a product for them is the key to success. 🚀🐱

1:1 Chats with recruiters: We will be using Chatstrike which is an asynchronous job fair where you can request chats with recruiters who have open positions. If you see any companies or roles, you are interested in, then you click request chat. We have over 30 job opportunities available for backgrounds such as business, analytics, computer science and more!

To kick off the workshop we will hear from a couple speakers to set the stage for our activity. At the end you will have the opportunity to practice your pitch skills. We will be pitching creative solutions to different problems students face.

In this meeting, we will hear from Matt Wald about how his company uses AI and Automation to help business operations. Then, we will be assigned with a group consisting of BBC and AI Club members to develop a company idea and pitch it! Come to this meeting to meet new people, learn about Artificial Intelligence, and work with a team to develop an innovative business idea involving AI! She is the co-founder, vice president and head of product management at Forge Biologics which is a gene therapy development engine. They are focused on enabling access to life changing gene therapies and helping bring them from idea into reality.
