Keep it up, Kristin!

Meet our chapter member, Kristin Combs-Duggins ! Kristin was one of the founding members of the Texhoma chapter back in 2017. Since joining WiNUP she has held the Vice Chair, Chair and International Board Rep positions. Kristin has also served on two conference planning committees, Little Rock and Niagara Falls. Kristin received the WiNUP Power Award in 2020 and has served on various international committees in the last few years.

Kristin has worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma /American Electric Power - AEP for nine years. She currently supports the PSO Generation fleet in continuous improvement and human performance efforts. "I thoroughly enjoy being with people. I like to show them I can provide value and hopefully improve their day-to-day work life, in whatever ways that work for their position". Kristin is a WOO from Gallup Strengths and goes between influence and steadiness in the DISC profile. Currently, Kristin is co-chairing the PSO United Way Committee for 2023, Vice Chair of the AEP PAC in PSO, board member at Owasso Education Foundation, member of Nation, W@W and PRIDE employee resource groups and a member of Tulsa Area United Way, Women United.

An important example: The company’s Educational Assistance Program, which reimburses employees for some professional exams, certificates and certification programs up to $5,250 each year (plus an additional $2,250 for advanced degrees).
Ed Schwartz, who leads AEP Ohio’s Quality of Service team, knows firsthand the value of this program. His two sons, Justin and Tyler, both employees within the AEP system, are taking advantage of this program and pursuing master’s degrees.

Payton Gray will begin his junior year at Ohio Northern University this fall, with a double major in electrical and computer engineering. He spent the summer immersed in engineering with our Advanced Distribution Studies Team in Columbus, OH. Payton said that his favorite part of the experience was being part of a team that helped him grow his skills and figure out practical applications for his ideas.
