Perhaps you have noticed that we have not posted for several days. Thought I would fill you in on our 2000 mile road trip. It was all about family. It took the first day to get out of Texas and through Southern Okla to visit family in Oklahoma City. We had a great dinner and shared old memories. The next morning we drove through Northern Okla and into Kansas. After lunch with my cousin in Wichita, we started our final lap to Kansas City. That drive takes you through The Flint Hills. It’s worth the drive to see this long stretch of ancient prairie. We got to our daughter’s home in Kansas City just in time for a late dinner. Lots of eating, hunting for treasures to bring home and trying to see Kansas City highlights. We love to visit Parkville and see all the pretty old houses. All of a sudden it was our last night. We had fun at the KC Royals game, Hot Dogs, Pop Corn and free Royals T shirts and they Won !!!!! I’ll give you a peek at our drive home soon. Road Trip Fun 🎉😄

Two fabulous vintage handwoven Persian wool rugs just flew in with us from our trip to Washington State. The one on the floor is a 3’ x 9’ runner, Tribal floral pattern. The rug on the settee is a 5’ x 61/2’ reversible Kilim. You have to see and feel🥰🥰🥰🥰

🌞We’re well into June and summer (and the heat that comes with it)!

📉All month we’ve seen in our small shop/independent shop owner groups that the dreaded June slump is officially here.

🤩Today we want to make an awareness post. Please remember to support your local Main Streets and downtown shops. This post isn’t just about supporting downtown Boerne, TX but it’s about the small shops all across the USA. Wherever you live or travel this summer, support small shops!

🔔These small shops make downtown unique. We do what most big stores can’t do as far as giving back to our community. We hold events, we donate, we employ locals, but most importantly, we know YOU.

📈So, during the annual ‘J’ month slumps of June & July, let’s show support for the little guys out there doing the hard and the big things and that are continuing to ‘show up.’ Visit your downtown small shops and buy. Even if it’s a very small thing, those things add up, reinvigorate, and give purpose back to the businesses that are looking at their sales reports praying that they make it through another ‘J’ month. If you absolutely can't afford even a small purchase, support isn't just with your dollars and by sharing a purchase and tagging the store…support is also liking posts and sharing posts…it helps so much to reach those that might not know a store has an item they may love.

👑Let’s fill up our downtowns! Shop owners work so hard all year to bring you the best experiences possible…let’s show them the love!

The latest 🌺🌸🌿🌞🌻. just look at this amazing Batik on silk, framed 48” x 48”. It is up on our exterior wall. Really something well. The other photos are trying to catch our unusual antique plant stand. It is almost 7’ tall, it has holders for 5 plant in 8” pots and at the top a hook for a hanging plant. It is handmade wrought iron, heavy and sturdy. At least 100 years old. What a statement piece for your patio.

We sold our tall butcher block island and brought in a new table. That meant that we had to collect and display our Handmade French and Italian pottery. I will be adding more special pieces. Hope you will come see what we have found in our “hunting”.

Just in our space at 🥰😮. Gustav Klimt, Austrian painter, early 20th century. I think you know a few of his paintings but these are unfamiliar to most. I love All of his work for the rich colors. These two are very well done, printed on canvas and nicely framed in beautiful wood.

Handcrafted punched tin Turkish lantern, handwoven paper art in a frame and small handmade wooden box are ready for you to pick up in our space I should also add the handcrafted Temple toy from India.
