π΅ Over 600 students from across 7 local schools joined us at Pinkerton Academy for our Bite of Reality fair, teaching students the importance of budgeting, credit scores, expenses, and more!
π With the help of 4 other local credit unions, students were given a mock career, salary, and credit score.
π» The students were then tasked to spend their income on expenses such as housing, food, clothing, children, luxuries, and more while attempting to not go over budget, teaching them skills that will last a lifetime!

π« Earlier this week, Service Credit Union participated in Spangdahlem High Schoolβs Adulting 101 Event, where we led four separate sessions teaching financial literacy.
π The students learned about different types of credit, the relationship between credit reports and scores, how to establish credit and use it wisely, and how financial goals and budgeting support responsible credit usage!
π Service Credit Union had the privilege of being the presenting sponsor for the Great Bay Food Truck Festival, which featured over 20 food trucks from local restaurants, live music, a beer garden, and a kids play area!

πΉ The poppy became the official flower of the American Legion, used to honor our fallen troops, after World War 1. Following the war, the poppy flower spread across Europe, which was later attributed to the soil being enriched with lime left by rubble from the war.

ποΈ We are looking for items such as lunch boxes, beach towels, water bottles, and sunscreen.
π When Boston's star defender Charlie McAvoy isn't on the ice winning games in the playoffs, he's out in the community supporting local first responders.
π π Throughout this season, we teamed up with McAvoy to raise over $150,000 and counting to provide crucial heart and cancer screenings -- often not covered by insurance -- for our heroes.
πΆ Our Laconia branch successfully ran a branch drive for Darbster Doggy last month, collecting over 100 items for a great organization that shelters and cares for dogs in need!
π΄ The Service CU Impact Foundation works around the clock to raise money for great organizations such as Ironstone Farm, who provide veterans, first responders, and more with hope and healing through equine-assisted therapeutic programs.
πΆ Throughout the month of May, our Concord branch will be hosting a collection drive to benefit the Pope Memorial SPCA.
