I’m glad to be back, however, with business slowing down due to complications from the pandemic, I will only be working at the salon on ‼️Saturdays and Sundays‼️ until further notice.

For a long time, has been a wonderful source for hair style inspiration. Lots of fashion shades and balayage, but not a lot of photos from the front.

With the requirement of during the pandemic, I’m paying way more attention to people’s eyes, regardless of if we’re coloring their hair or not. In fact, every time I have to leave the house, I find myself complimenting a person’s eyes 😅
A smile is great, but I’m more intrigued by the mystery behind the eyes 👁 👁

💚 New Transformations, New Locations 💚

Today was my first day working behind the chair in my new space at ! I met three new guests and had the privilege of giving two of them completely new looks!
This guest was ready for a change and brought inspiration pics from a previous cut she had when she was in “a better place.” 😍
I think this is something that many of us are also currently experiencing right now: giving another person permission to let us let go. Sometimes, we have to drop off old baggage in order to grow! 🌱 And, right now, we all have some residual baggage from our quarantine... 😩

I’m so excited to finally announce that I have been offered an amazing opportunity to work at The Orange Olive Hair Gallery in NoDa !! 😍

I know this seems sudden, but I have been in correspondence with the owner, , since North Carolina was in quarantine. We discussed where I was in my career and what my potential and goals are, and I have visited the salon for several hours getting to know the brand’s culture and team.
Friends, I can guarantee this is exactly the salon you have been envisioning me in, and I can’t wait for you all to join me on my journey for growth! 👏

I have been working for myself for a handful of years now, and as much as I love the creative freedom, I’m ready to pass the torch to another strong leader so that I can focus more energy into my favorite aspect of the business, creating beauty! 🥰

🎊 So what does this mean for you? 🎊

The salon has a completely different vibe from any other salon in which I’ve worked! Located across from in the neighborhood of Charlotte, this space has a very cozy, yet upscale, mood. You will feel comfortable and be well taken care of when you call the salon to schedule an appointment with me, during your luxurious experience in the wash room, and while getting to know the rest of my fun and creative team members! 💆‍♀️

First-Visit Purple Balayage 💜
This referred guest’s intentions were to get a lavender blonde balayage just before her 4th of July birthday trip to the beach with previous color on her hair...NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! 😩

What we COULD do within the small time frame we had to get her into the salon was a slightly slower transformation to get to her end goal!
Can we spend all day doing the processes to get her end goal? Yes. Is it reasonable for me and the guest? Probably not.

So we had to COMPROMISE!
Her non-negotiable were to have some shade of purple, to have a seamless balayage-style blend, and to get in and out just before her big trip!
We did a quickly balayage, saturating all of the ends, and adding more light pieces around her face. We rinsed her out and towel dried her at the bowl, then mixed New Wash cleanser by Olaplex No. 2 by and Tropical Violet + Royal Purple by and processed for 20min at the bowl!
What does that do exactly? This allowed us to gently cleanse the exterior of the hair, rebuild bonds inside of the hair to reverse previous damage, AND deposit these purple shades immediately after a lightening service!

And that’s how you do a purple balayage in a 2.5hr time slot behind the chair, WHEW! 🥵

Next time, we will do the exact same process until her hair is light enough to apply a softer purple. The time after that, we will do the same process AGAIN and her hair should be so blonde that we just have to tone the hair with a pastel oven ser and silver shade 😉 stay tuned!

BABY BALAYAGE!? No, just a classic bob shape 😜 whew!

Not technically a but a !

Being a hairdresser is all about being a problem solver. Our guests come to us with advice about relationships, major life decisions, and how to keep their hair from tangling in their curling iron lol!

I think of it as starting with a few pieces to a puzzle and envisioning a picture or idea of the finished result. Then, we have to start putting the pieces together, seeing what unique pieces to that individual fit together to make the bigger picture. Whether it’s their desired cut and color, how to navigate their personal relationships, or even how to manage life at home! You know we talk about A LOT during each visit! 😅

Simply put, it is the journey through their 33,600 piece jigsaw puzzle of life!
Now where are those corner pieces?! 💪
