MDUSD is Deploying the Right Technologies That Work for K–12: Leaders in California’s Mt. Diablo Unified School District are focused on expanding digital equity so that all students are prepared for college and career. That preparation starts early in their 21st-century classrooms, where students and teachers get access to standardized technologies. The district recently modernized its ed tech with updated Chromebooks, teacher laptops and Promethean ActivPanel displays.

Congrats to Mt. Diablo HS Cheer Coach Heather Hollis, who has been named the CA Varsity Cheer Coach of the Year by Nfinity, based on an anonymous nomination and followup interview! "We were looking for somebody that's made an impact, not just won a competition," said the Nfinity sales director who interviewed Hollis. "It has nothing to do with competitions. Pioneer Athlete Spotlight on Loraine Aicel Sotto, Mt. Diablo High - Pioneer Athlete Spotlight on Loraine Aicel Sotto who has displayed an unwavering commitment to both her academics and athletic career (volleyball and basketball) at Mt. Diablo High School.

The Mt. Diablo HS Football team will have a return match next Friday at Acalanes, where the MDHS 2023 season ended. This year, the team is getting off to a great start, winning last Friday's game v. Deer Valley 42-25! Go, Red Devils!

Mt. Diablo seeks revenge at Acalanes, where 2023 season ended - Mt. Diablo High football coach Fetuao Mua sought out a return match with Acalanes and that will happen this Friday evening after both teams won their openers.

We’re so proud of our Elementary and Middle School staff who baked up delicious pear 🍐cinnamon mini loaves this morning entirely from scratch! The loaves are made with organic whole grain flour from Early Bird Farm and Mill, grown right here in Northern California! Yum 😋

MDUSD's 3rd Annual Black Family Night Extravaganza will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 in the Ygnacio Valley HS multi-use room in Concord.
The event is targeted toward parents/guardians of MDUSD African American Students, current MDUSD African American students, MDUSD African American staff, MDUSD Community Partners and MDUSD African American Staff Alumni.
Attendees will learn about District resources and interventions geared to bring about equitable outcomes for African American students, and will meet new team members and community partners. The District will provide food and beverages. Please scan the QR code in the flyer to RSVP.

An MDUSD and City of Walnut Creek - City Hall Campus and Gun Safety Event for Parents and Caregivers in Walnut Creek will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. TONIGHT (Tuesday, Aug. 27) in the Little Theater at Northgate High School.
Campus and Gun Safety Panels are being presented in local communities to educate parents about the city’s and the school district’s work to keep students and families safe from gun violence.
The overall mental and physical health of students will be discussed by a panel at Northgate including the MDUSD Superintendent, Walnut Creek Chief of Police and Mayor, and the Northgate HS Principal and School Social Work Specialist.
Future presentations will be scheduled in other MDUSD cities.

The MDUSD School Board will meet at 6 p.m. TOMORROW (Wednesday, Aug. 28th) in the District Office Boardroom to appoint a vice principal at College Park HS, receive annual reports from the 2018 Measure J Citizens Bond Oversight Committee and the 2010 Measure C Citizens Bond Oversight Committee, hold a public hearing on a Developer Fee Justification Study Report and adopt a resolution increasing developer fees, and review and potentially approve a Revised 2024-27 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), among other items.
