Heidi Noel Rogers passed away peacefully on Saturday October 21, 2023 after a one year battle with mouth cancer. She was surrounded by family and some of her close friends at the time of her death. She was eight year old. Heidi was born (we believe) in Wake County North Carolina on September 18, 2015. She was adopted at approximately nine weeks of age by her parents, Bill and Nanda Rogers, and her aunt, Rachel Rhodes. Heidi is survived by her parents and aunt, as well as half-sister, Tiffany Francene Rogers, an elderly Yorkie mix who has not yet noticed that she is gone. She is also survived by her co-workers and BFF’s Kristi, Chelsea, Megan, Jill, and Amber.

Heidi attended school at K-9 Capers in Concord, where she attempted to obtain “Therapy Dog” certification. While she excelled at recess, lunch, recess, outdoor exercise, recess, and play time, she struggled with academics. Despite those struggles, she received a certificate of attendance and “K-9 good citizen” award in 2020 thanks in no small part to the efforts of her professors, Donna and Andrea. In 2016, Heidi accepted a position as a volunteer greeter at the office of William F. Rogers Jr. P.A. where she worked tirelessly as an unpaid receptionist, companion, and therapy dog trainee. She later accepted the same position at Billick Rogers Family Law in 2021 where she worked cheerfully as a greeter, mascot, and good will ambassador until her passing last Saturday. Her hobbies included playing ball, playing “stick”, eating sticks, rough-housing with any dogs foolish and energetic enough to play with her, collecting stuffed animals and toys, keeping those toys away from Tiffy, begging for treats, sleeping on Megan’s couch, and resting her head on anyone’s knee who would pet her. She was attentive and obedient, except when she didn’t want to be, which was rare and usually justified. Heidi was a member of the American Kennel Club where she was registered as a “Golden Retriever”, and was a part-time social member of Tuscarora Country Club in Mt. Pleasant where she enjoyed swimming and riding in golf carts.

Heidi left her paw prints on the hearts of her immediate family and her adopted family at Billick Rogers Family Law. She will be sadly missed by her co-workers, Kristi, Chelsea, Megan, Jill, and Amber, and by the countless clients, postal workers, UPS delivery drivers, and others who frequented the offices of the law firm bringing and always taking a minute to get to know her and tell her how beautiful she was, and always will be.
