After 4+ years of not participating in pop ups I am coming out of “retirement” for one very special fundraiser event! Two weeks from today I will be popping up with Purple Arts, benefiting pancreatic cancer research center. 25% of all my sales will go directly to this organization.

Late last year a dear family friend began his battle with Pancreatic Cancer and is fighting hard. When I was asked to participate, I could hardly say No.

Butterflies have been stuck in my mind now for the past year and I’m finally getting what has been in my head into jewelry form.

I find it interesting and beautiful that something that has come to symbolize rebirth, hope, and endurance has been all I can think about creating. My personal life for the while now has felt flipped turned upside down (Any Fresh Prince fans out there? 🙃) and this just feels like the right time to release some hope and beauty into the world.

My elbow is about 95% healed to normal and I’m so excited to build CB back from the roots up!

Hey 👋
I wanted to pop on here and let you know I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth! But long story short I have had to face one of my worst nightmares as a maker. I pretty severely injured my right elbow at the busiest time of year, leaving me without stock for the holidays.

Truthfully without my husband’s support this would be the end of CB entirely. But he has pulled the financial weight around here, keeping me positive and focused on healing.
All that to say, I’m still not back 100% yet but am getting there. I plan on putting together a new product launch and sale in January so keep an eye out for that!
Enjoy your loved ones this season and remember to shop small, these shops are depending on you to help keep them around!

Today a fresh batch of my leaf and feather pieces are heading to in Boone, NC. If you’ve never been to this thoughtfully curated shop you are in for a treat! They have two locations, one in Blowing Rock and one in downtown Boone.

Supporting the micro and small businesses is one of my favorite things. As I make more space to do that I feel a bit more like I’m getting back to the things that really matter to me.

I’ll be honest letting go of this side of CB is probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to do regarding the business. But new seasons are ahead and by the end July I will be selling off the equipment and extra supplies. In the meantime keep an eye out for a few more leather goods to trickle on the website for last chance shopping 🛍️

I have exciting news! You can now shop my jewelry in Davidson, NC. Krissy and I go way back (remember The Sanctuary?!) So when she told me she was reopening a new studio and wanted to carry my pieces I jumped at the chance!
The space is simply dreamy and her grand opening is tomorrow, May 5th. ✨

I love the process. It’s not always pretty, and it can be really messy. But that’s where the beauty really is…..and I might not just be talking about metal smithing here 🔥 🔨 ✨

Getting back to Nature.

I’ve written this post many times in my mind and it has not ever gotten easier…after 10 years of making leather goods it is time for CB to refocus and close that side of business down.

There are many factors that are out of my control and this decision has been a long time coming. I will always be grateful for this season of life and business, the people I’ve collaborated with, getting to work with my sister and mom, having you all carry pieces that I have made with my own hands. Sometimes it still feels like a dream that I was able to live.

New seasons are ahead, I will be getting back to basics if you will and focusing solely on jewelry and metal working in my studio! I have some designs that have been in my head for a while but I have not had the time to develop them. So be sure to stay tuned! ✨

I know I’ve been very quiet on here as of late, lots of things are shifting in life and business. To be candid it is far from what I expected and is taking much processing on my part.
Still the future is bright and I will share more as we grow into this next season.
