My Anti-Maskne Skincare Regimen

I wear a mask everyday of the week, so I found out early on at the start of this virus that it was going to take a strict skincare routine to combat the maskne. Let me start by saying that I do not wear makeup everyday, maybe 2 times a week and hardly ever when I know I will have my mask on all day. This is what has worked for me and I hope it help anyone dealing with acne from this mask situation.

1. Cleansing Balm - if I am wearing makeup I use the cleansing balm, which is a hydrating makeup removing cleanser. I use a small amount to melt all of my makeup and then remove it with a soft rag.
2. Charcoal Bar - charcoal is great for detoxification. I rub the bar in my hands and then wash my face. I also go behind with a clean rag to exfoliate and ensure all of my makeup is gone.
3. Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser - sometimes I feel like I need an extra but if exfoliation. This is my favorite cleanser. I feel like it really gets all of the gunk out of my pores.
4. Charcoal mask - I use my charcoal mask on my chin (A MUST!) and to spot treat other breakouts that might arise. I only do this 1-2 times a week or as needed for blemishes.
5. Countercontrol SOS spot treatment - this is a miracle worker! I use it to spot treat any blemishes as I see them. This combined with the charcoal mask is a game changer. Any blemishes I see are dried out and gone within 1-2 days.

I also use other products - toner, moisturizer, serum, etc. Before all of this I used two products at most, but my skin started to suffer. The five I have listed I feel have been instrumental in keeping my skin calm during this pandemic. If you are struggling with maskne and need any advice, please feel free to reach out to me.
